I have 6 cows working around the clock, and they haven't finished 1 sofa this week!!!

Assuming you're serious:

Most 'leather' sofas are 'leather match' - that means the actual leather is only where your skin might touch it. All else is vinyl that is dyed or colored to match the leather. So it would take less that you might imagine. From my ex-husband's work at a packing plant (in the hide house, where they process them) I'm going to say it will take approximately 3 animals for the 'average' 5 foot to 6 foot sofa. A larger sofa will take more.

two fully grown cows (at least two years old) will generate enough leather to make your average leather sofa.

my dear dad used four cow hides to make a sofa he was an upholsterer
but it took a lot more to do houses of parliment when they got him up there

never mind that was before tv

You need one to design it.
One to hammer the frame together.
One to stretch the material and pin it in place.
And one to do all the QC checks.

If you include the one to deliver that then makes 5 cows!

I wouldn't use aligators - they're too lazy and they have a union.

It depends on the hourly rate you pay them,what training opportunities you offer ,and the skill level of the inividual cow and can they work well as a team,do you have management skills ,
