Our mother cat just had a kitten and she has a few more that we can feel. It has now been about 3 hours and none have come yet???? She is very uncomfortable and me too watchimg her! When should we get a vet to look at her or what if anything can we do to help her along? Please help!!!!

She could be fighting against it or she could have a breech kitten stuck in one side of the uterus. Look at her rear end and see if you can see anything like a paw. If you can, try to relax Mom by petting her and talking softly. Gently but firmly grab the paw and with each contraction, pull but not too hard that you will damage the kitten. Mom will scream because it will hurt but it's better than her hemhorraging from it. You will be able to deliver it, don't worry. But if you see nothing, give her a bit more time then call a vet if nothing is happening. Check her for contractions to be sure she still is. I have had cats that went hours between births, not sure why but they did and kittens suffered nothing from it. Good luck.

Anything more than an hour between kittens is too long. Take her to a vet ASAP.

She needs some laber inhancing drugs. It should be no longer then 1 hour between kittens. If your vet isn't willing to help you out call another. She needs to be given pitocin etc.

Take her to the vet ASAP! This is not normal. She probably felt uncomfortable with you around. You have to leave her alone while she is having her baby's DUH! She knows what to do even is this is her first birth. Take her to the vet now that is the only thing you can do! I hope every things OK. Even tho i don't think it will be. I'm sorry.

How dumb is that . Man go to the vet these kiddens probably either deadth in her belly or what ever is wrong with them. I can't believe you did not do that right away.

Um, I think it would be best to take the mom NOW. My guess is the babies are dead in her belly. Especially if she is younge, between 1-2.

My goodness, please have kitty spayed. I don't think either of you can handle this again! I really hope all went well and momma and babies are doing fine.
