My sister is currently not home but she trains horses (4-h) but i have this question for the Breeders Cup, and the like. Can someone please help?

The owners or stable determines the jockey silk colors. Most generally jockeys wear the owner's silks unless the owners don't have their own silks then usually the jockeys wear the stable/trainer's silks.

The owners, trainers, breeders all have there own colors. This is so that colors can be swapped if they are toomuch alike. Makes it easier to call the race. Also, to follow their own horse.

generally jockeys wear an owners colours, however the colours may also be registered by a trainer. Colours are registered with the appropriate racing bodies.

I was under the impression that race horses carried their owners colours and that these were approved by the appropriate racing control body.

Generally the stables have several sets of colours, that they allocate as needed. Only one jockey can ride in the combination of colours per race

The trainers r told by some one higher what colours they r to wear! my friends racers Pacers and she was told by some one from the Board of Racing what colors she was to wear

The stable owners determine the colours for their jockies. It is very much part of their 'brand'. A stable is easily recognized by their colours.
