I'm kinda confused on what he might mean after he wrote this to me, after I invited him on vacation with parents or (just me) : Hey, if you ever go out to Colorado, let me know.... I would like to go out there hunting some day.
So what did he mean by the (.....)?

He has a hard time showing emotion & opening up, could that be a factor?

oh yah, I replied back to that email and asked him when a good time would be to go hunting in CO.
Did I jump the gun, or seem a little pretentious when I said that? Just wondering. Thanks.

he was thinking of the right words to type. and he was giving you a reason to let him know.

Don't think it was anything negative. I use that a lot when I pause during writing (between thoughts) - it's a way to make text seem like speech (when you pause between certain words)

I think you're thinking way too much into that.
I use (...) all the time.
I tend to use that more than a period.
