What if the world we live in now is dynamic and exciting, and eternal life turns out to be really boring?
If by "eternal life" you mean "sitting around worshipping God for all eternity," then I'm not sure how that's a profit compared to this world. Would you be able to start a business? Get married? Become a world-famous athlete? Become a billionaire? Sell millions of CD's? Somehow I think the possibilities here would be a lot greater and more fun than doing nothing but "praising God" from now until the end of time.

You can gain profits if you have the whole world such as worldy profits as in market exchange, stocks, things of this world but if one chooses to have any profit or gains over eternal life then that person gains nothing except for temporary "worldy" gains/profits and does not gain eternal life. There is only God and eternal life that we shall live for and in this whole world or of "worldy profits or gains, there is no camparison to God or eternal life. Very good question you had!!! 5 star rated---.

There is NOTHING, I mean NOTHING in this world that I would lose my soul over in order to have eternal life. I've learned that in many trials......when things happen and I get tied up in, and can't think that I can live without, I ask myself, "what are you here for?" God wants up to "save ourselves" and not be entangled with the cares of this world. So we have to detach ourselves from all of lives natural things, because in the end, we are here for God's purpose only. Great question!!!!

How do you all know this stuff?
I like your question...what exactly is the whole world and wouldn't eternal life be included within that...or then it would just be the partial world unless you are conceptualizing of the whole world without the dimension of time...I think...

Nothing is more important than eternal life. This life we live is difficult and temporary, and I know that I don't want to spend my next eternity without God.

You'd better go read your Bible again - it says there is NO life after death. I know, everyone thinks Jesus meant a life after death when he said "I go to prepare a place for you". But you'll notice that having "a place prepared" does not equate an existance wherein you're awake and aware of your surroundings. *sigh* Poor Christians - always the victims of their wishful thinking!
