Yeah, what the first guy said...what's a cold fart? Considering that your body temperature is 98.6 degrees on average, and it comes from your body, it would have to be warm. As for why it smells, it's because food ferments in your intestines after digestion, and that smells. And it comes out your butt. There's a big clue right there. lol.

lol Good question! Maybe warm farts are just air bubbles that are trapped closer to your fecal matter than the ones that aren't as warm and don't smell as much. I'm not sure, but that's my guess.

heat makes particles move around faster, and allows for better dispersement in the air, so you smell it more, just as any odor is stronger in heat..
