Dear Ticky Taste Technique,
I used to eat my food to fast and hardly ever really tasted it. Until I started dating and my girlfriend said i should chew one bite of food at least 50 times. After about 15 chews i was searching in my mouth for more bigger food particles. And finally i got to tasting my food. It seemed to take forever to eat but she pointed out that it was better for digestion and such junk. It really gave me time to taste my food while counting to 50 with every chew. Try it. And think when you chew. What flavor did you taste first, middle and last. What textures do you like and dislike. If you dont like a food try it 2 more times and figure out why you dislike it.
Happy Chewing & Counting. PZB

Dear Didgeridu,

I do not know if there is any medical literature on this topic but generally, you should chew you food approximately 30 times before swallowing. The mastication process will ensure that the food is broken down sufficiently and allows digestive enzymes in your mouth to cleave appropriate bonds. When the bolus reaches the stomach, the digestive enzymes will be working to make the nutrients in the food available for absorption in your small bowel.
