Yes! Aspartame is bad for you. Once in the body it breaks down to formaldehyde. It can mimic they symptoms of Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis. It will also make you crave more sweets.

I don't eat anything with artificial sweeteners. I can always taste the artificial stuff.

You can flavor your own water by droping a slice of fruit in your container. Try a slice of peach, lemon, lime, orange, strawberry, raspberry..... Get creative!

Aspartame breaks down into some nasty components in your body. I consider it to be a poison and won't touch it or let my kids have any of it. Search for "aspartame side effects" or "nutrasweet side effects" for a lot of info. I included one link below. Oh, and Splenda is just as bad for you. Don't switch to that no matter what anyone tells you. It's an artificial chemical regardless of what it might have started out as.

You're better off drinking plain water with some lemon or lime squeezed in it. Even a little sugar in your water isn't bad. Avoid a cup full of sugar like you're supposed to put in Kool-Aid. But half a teaspoon of sugar has about 8 or 9 calories in it. That's not exactly a diet buster.

Diet Sprite is sweetened with sucralose. So is one of those diet Pepsi drinks. Pepsi One or Diet Pepsi--I don't remember which one. Most of the low carb energy drinks are also sweetened with sucralose. And a little aspartame never hurt anyone. I'd be more worried about people's lack of exercise and over consumption of trans fats and sugar than any supposed risks associated with aspartame.

It has been said to cause anything from headache to seizures...I personally REFUSE to put that in my body. It is a chemical made by man, NOT nature and we still arent sure of it's side effects. I think that if there is something that after 20 years is still debated, I wont eat it. I lost 54 lbs eating as clean as possible. Check out my before and after pic here http://www.healthandstrength.net

Oh, and hahaha I just read that aspartame MAKES YOU HUNGRIER.....how brilliant...I wont touch the stuff! Try STEVIA!! I love it!

I feel that sugar is a poison also http://www.karlloren.com/Diabetes/p82.htm

There are topics on every subject you could do a search on and find something negative about. I use splenda, nutra sweet and sweet and low if I have nothing else to use. I have been using these since age 18 and I am 47 and I am healthy.
I drink the drinks you mentioned all day long. It's helped me lose weight. I believe they are safe.

If I drink anything containing it, the outer layer of skin on my lips start to tingle, then peels off, but it doesn't seem to bother a lot of people?
