In the bible it says that only 144,000 will go to heaven and rule with Jesus over the kingdom and the righteous ones will possess the earth...so not many people will go to heaven, the only one's in heaven is God, Jesus, and their angels, that's it nobody else for now...i think people should accept the fact that not everyone will go to heaven.

Revelation 14:1, i'm not trying to bring anyone down...and nobody have the right to tell me that what i believe in is wrong...and by the way it's in every bible. if you don't believe in the bible then don't bother answeing my question please...144,000 will go to heaven and the righteous will stay on earth and the 144,000 will rule over these people with Jesus, and God won't destroy the earth because the main reason that he created the earth was so that we can live here forever, God is loving and cares for us deeply so why would make you burn and suffer, remember God is forgiving and would never hurt us...i'm not here to argue against anybody's beliefs...i believe in the bible and if you tell me something tell me where it says it, like the burning in hell thing and God destroying the earth because i've never seen it...any true Christian can tell you that only 144,000 will go to heaven, if ya'll don't want to accept that then it's up to you.

I think that you need to read the book of Revelation a little closer the next time... it does not say that 144,000 will go to heaven it states that 144,000 Jewish believers will preach the Word of God in the end times.
Maybe you should try to compare three or four different translations... like the New King James, The Amplified, The NIV, The Message, The New American Standard all good interpretations of the bible...
Be Blessed:-)

The world has a mistaken impression that all 'good' people will go to Heaven. It's basically wishful thinking on their part. We all want to envision our late loved ones in Heaven. It's actually a good thing that Heaven isn't for 'good' people, because Jesus Himself said there are no good humans. No one is good except the Father in Heaven. Oh.
You need to read a little more attentively about the 144,000 too. You do have a mistaken impression there. That's not what it says. Go read it again. If you don't know where to find it, you can use a concordance (book form or online. Google 'online concordance' and you'll find one.)
Entry to Heaven is based on trusting in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. You need to confess and repent of your sins and ask His forgiveness, then trust that the penalty that Jesus has already paid will be reckoned to your account and you will be made righteous through His sacrifice -- not by being good, as if any of us ever could. God's standards for holiness are so high that one sin any time during your life (and in some cases, even just thinking about it counts as committing it) is enough to condemn you to hell for eternity. God made the rules. We don't. We need to learn what His rules are, and one is that sin must be paid for. No sin will ever go unpunished or unpaid for.

Because when the Bible was written the number of 144,000 people was quite a lot, probably a sufficient amount to fill ones church coffers. So in order to instill a sense of urgency for the sheep to follow, this number was made up. Trust me god did not whisper this in someones ear, and Jesus did not see this in a burning bush, or moses whatever. Now that there are 3 billion people on the planet maybe some other "profit" will come up with another higher number to make the rest of the sheep not feel left out.

What bible are you reading honey? If you truely accept Jesus as your saviour and live a good life then everybody stands a good chance of going to heaven..otherwise your eternity will be in hell. About the earth.. God said that he will be back to destroy the earth at the end of time with fire, so nobody will be on earth. Either heaven or hell honey..get a true bible and don't commit to believing in Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs. They're wrong.

If every one were to go to heaven once he/she dies, then what is the purpose of for resurrection hope? The Hebrew is techi·yath´ ham·me·thim´, which means “revival of the dead.” (Matt. 22:23, ftn, NW Reference edition
John 5:28, 29: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice [the voice of Jesus] and come out.”
Acts 24:15: “I have hope toward God . . . that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.”
Rev. 20:13, 14: “The sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds. And death and Hades were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.”
The Bible plainly and clearly teaches and shows us that only 144,000 alone go to heaven. However, it tells us a 'great crowd' of people who will inherit the earth. Both having the prospect of everlasting life.
Note: At Revelation 14:1-3: "I saw, and, look! the Lamb [Jesus Christ] standing upon the Mount Zion [in heaven; see Hebrews 12:22-24], and with him a [hundred and forty-four thousand] having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads. . . . And they are singing as if a new song . . . and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been bought from the earth." (Please note that persons who are of the 'hundred and forty-four thousand', have the 'name of the father and is it written on their foreheads', they are 'singing a song' and they are th only ones to know that song! What is it, in case you know?)
Is the number 144,000 merely symbolic? No.
The answer is indicated by the fact that, after mention of the
definite number 144,000, Revelation 7:9 refers to "a great crowd, which no man was able to number." If the number 144,000 were not literal it would lack meaning as a contrast to the "great crowd." Viewing the number as literal agrees with Jesus’ statement at Matthew 22:14 regarding the Kingdom of the heavens: "There are many invited, but few chosen."
What will those who go to heaven do there?
Luke 12:32: “Have no fear, little flock, because your Father has approved of giving you the kingdom.” (These do not include all who have exercised faith; the number is limited. Their being in heaven is for a purpose.)
Rev. 20:6: "They will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will
rule as kings with him for the thousand years." (Also Daniel 7:27)
1 Cor. 6:2: "Do you not know that the holy ones will judge the
world?"
Rev. 5:10: "You made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over ["on," RS, KJ, Dy; "over," AT, Da, Kx, CC] the earth." (The same Greek word and grammatical structure is found at Revelation 11:6. There RS, KJ, Dy, etc., all render it "over.")

The 144,000 are the last Christians alive when Jesus returns. They will be translated without seeing death. The great multitude will be resurrected and both groups will be taken to Heaven for a thousand years. Then all will return to earth to live for eternity.

Whoa! That's a Jehovah's Witness doctrine. The Bible says that anyone who believes in Christ can go to heaven. We're up the creek without a paddle of only that many people go to heaven.

well when this number was made up out of someones imagination aroud 2000 years ago, 144,000 probably seemed like a really big number. .....in another 2000 years itll seem even smaller. maybe christians will be murdering each other by then for a spot in heaven.

That is Kingdom Hall (Jehovah's Witnesses) teaching, and it is not Biblically Accurate.
The 144,000 is from Revelation. It refers to 144,000 Jewish Mail Virgins who will Evangelize all of Israel during the Reign of the Anti - Christ in the last half of the 7 Year Tribulation.

The Bible says a lot of things...quite a few things directly contradictory. No one can even agree on exactly what the qualifications for heaven are, or even what happens when you get there. It's a fairly tale for the comfort of those left behind and for those who fear death.
