I'm going on an airplane trip for the holidays with my son and am looking for any advice/tips from those who have experience traveling with their kids. I've not traveled with my son except by car and, then, I had my husband with me; this time it's just the two of us. All advice would be helpful as well as any tips on how the airlines/airports are these days with formula/foods. Thank you all so much!!!

The best advice that someone gave me = Benadril!!. If you want a hassel free flight - give your son some Benadril for Children medicine just before you get on the plane (before security check point - where they may take the liquids away - if over 4 oz.) . It will knock him out and he will slepp the whole flight. Makes your flight stress free versus him crying due to air pressure - feeding him - entertaining him etc. Remember that you can not carry lots of liquids on planes - even for children - so don't bring too much stuff as carryon or it will be taken from you. Good luck - and remember - it may sound cruel or bad parenting - but Benadril is the best advice I ever got - after several stressful and miserable flights with a crying baby. Remember - you get to board early with a baby. Good Luck.

Travel restrictions vary by airport. Usually larger cities, like NY, have stricter rules. I'd recommend taking only as much formula as you absolutely have to for the duration of the flight. And if you can get it in those single servings containers, all the better. I had some grief with that recently.

As for the cabin pressure, I just used the natural sucking of a bottle to help and it worked fine. I used a light chamomille tea in the bottle to help him relax and he napped most of the way. I did not want to drug my child if I could help it. A pacifier worked well too. Happy travel to you and good luck

you should not have a problem at all. most airlines provide special seats for mothers with babies and also babybeds. take your own formula with you. hot water you will get everywhere. Most airports give priorities to mothers traveling with kids, so you do not have to stand in line. same with boarding. you will be one of the first going on the plane.
for more infos you should call your airline and ask what they have to offer.
gute reise!

The air pressure in the cabin is very thick upon taking off and landing and will make a person's ears pop. Call your pediatrician and ask her for some numbing ear drops to put in your baby's ears. I did it and it worked. My daughter still fussed a little, but did not scream and wail like a lot of babies do on a plane.

Th basically think of i will think of of is that your ten month previous would possibly no longer understand the stress on their ears. Chewing or sucking on something ought to treatment that. I flew with somewhat one until eventually now, and did no longer have a situation, yet never seen the stress on the ear situation! That replaced into 30 years in the past, and that i think of i replaced into too dumb to even ask then!

take plenty of things for your 10 month to do. stay calm yourself so he will stay calm. sometimes airlines will let ppl with kids on the plane first. i suggest doing so, so you can be settled before the mass boards. good luck. take extra clothes and diapers.
