I got three piercings the other day and the tragus didn't really hurt all that bad. There was more cartilage to go through and you do hear a faint popping sound.

I recommend a barbell. I have a ring because it was cheaper and I thought better, but I'm wrong.

The worst part about a tragus is I can no longer wear my headphones since they go in my ears.

Cost? Depends on the piercer, jewelry, and if there are any sales. I had a 3 for 40$ sale plus jewelry.

Healing time is anywhere from several months to a year depending if you're good and keep it clean and don't play with it.

I had my labret, nose and tragus pierced and none of them hurt anymore than the other. I would say the least painful was the labret, then the tragus and then the nose but in saying that the pain wasn't anything extreme. The only thing with the tragus is making sure you don't knock it when it is healing and it can take a bit longer than other piercings to heal completly. But do it, its a cute piercing to have! I have since taken out my labret and nose stud but have kept and always will keep my tragus cos I love it so much.

I got my tragus pierced in July. No big deal. probably the least painful of my piercings. They clamped it, and for the actual piercing, it mainly just felt like a lot of pressure. Then it was never really very sore. never infected. actually incredibly easy to heal. I could sleep on that side within 10 days, and move the jewlery by the second week.

I would recommend having it pierced with a barbell. My tragus is with a barbell, and like i said, very easy to heal. My rook was with a capitve ball ring, and it's been a total pain to heal. my piercer says rings are just much more painful and difficult to heal.

Pain is relative. Everyone deals with pain in different ways and feels pain at different levels. What hurts to you may not hurt to me and vice versa.

Healing time varies, but tragus generally takes anywhere from a few months to a year. It just depends on your body's healing time (people heal at different rates) and how well you take care of it (clean it and then leave it alone... don't move the jewelry, don't play with it or touch it).

Cost varies, depending on the jewelry you have inserted, but can range anywhere from about $25-40. Sometimes higher, depending on the jewelry. Do not get pierced with a gun, as I'm sure you already know... and make sure the shop is clean and proper sterilization techniques are used.

probably not more than a nose piercing. I have my nose pierced, but I have never gotten my tragus done. I think they would be around the same amount of pain. If you want it just go for it and have fun!

yes, tragus does hurt more than a nose or navel piercing. initial healing is supposed to take about 2-3 months. keep in mind, this is an estimated time. in total, i believe mine took about a year to fully heal.

i think a tragus piercing would hurt more, the cartlidge is thicker and the piercer has to push through a little harder. i was going to get it done until i saw my friend get it done and it looked way too painful.

Haha, until you acquire an extremely massive hollow on your nostril, its probably that snot won't come out lol. relatively, for fairly an prolonged time, no longer even air will come out of the hollow. That wont ensue until this is*completely* healed. you could shop the hoop in to blow your nostril too =D
