Though I am a Christian, I would heartily agree with the Muslim's (not necessarily that woman should wear head coverings specifically) that here in the Western world, our woman expose too much skin. Our culture is entirely too sexed up. I think woman should dress more modestly because to flaunt your body means that in your mind you have reduced yourself to a peice of meat to display at the market. And lets just be honest, how many men always resist the urge to look? But I differ with the Muslims in that behavior modification will result in holy people. To make people holy, you have to change their beliefs which affect a change of behavior and in the Christian worldview the only one who can change our believes is Jesus Christ...more commonly known as salvation by grace. Very relevent question that touchs another important side-note - every society in history that increasingly embraced sexual immorality and homosexuality without restraint disappeared within a few generations.

It's helpful when a Muslim guy gets caught banging the wrong chick on purpose, you know, plausible denial. It's cover for the horniest horn dog man. Especially if a Muslim guy has gender issues and is going around wearing a veil and just happens to get butt-slammed by another dude - plausible denial - it's a beautiful thing.

The point is to shield the woman against the prey of men. As the only acceptable sexual contact between men and women is through marriage, it becomes paramount to preserve the "purity" of both men and women. Since men are usually the ones taking initiative, then it becomes necessary to protect women by dressing modestly and in a way that will not provoke the male's libido.

well being a muslim girl wearing the veil...of couse islam does have a point....Hijab is not merely a covering dress, but more importantly, it is behavior, manners, speech and appearance in public. The headscarf is an outer manifestation of an inner commitment to worshipping Allah – it symbolizes a commitment to piety. Self or inner morality is what gives meaning to the external scarf. This can be perceived from the overall demeanor of any Muslim woman – how she acts, dresses, speaks, and so on. In a land where misinformation about Islam and Muslims abounds, Muslim sisters have the opportunity to portray Islam in its true light Hijab is more than an external covering. It has a lot (more) to do with modesty and just the way you present yourself .after I started wearing hijab, I noticed that people would often behave more circumspectly with me, like apologizing if they swore. I appreciated that. I feel that wearing hijab has given me an insight into a decent and upright lifestyle
According to Jabir ibn Abdullah, when he asked the Prophet (pbuh), about a man’s gaze falling inadvertently on a strange woman, the Prophet replied, "Turn your eyes away" (Muslim). In another tradition, the Prophet (pbuh) chided for looking again at a woman – he said, the second glance is from Satan.
So, contrary to popular belief, Muslim and non-Muslim, hijab is not worn for men; to keep their illicit desires in check – that is their own responsibility, as the above verse and Prophetic sayings show. Rather, Muslim women wear it for God and their own selves. Islam is a religion of moderation and of balance between extremes. Therefore, it does not expect women alone to uphold society’s morality and uprightness. Rather, Islam asks men and women mutually to strive to create a healthy social environment where children may grow with positive, beautiful, constructive and practical values and concepts.
In fact, for many women hijab is a constant reminder that they should not have to design their lives and bodies for men. The concept of modesty and hijab in Islam is holistic, and encompasses both men and women. The ultimate goal is to maintain societal stability and to please God
(pbuh) here stands for peace be upon him

First of all it’s ALLAH ( God ) almighty command for women to cover themselves. That’s why Mary (PBUH) was covered because she was obedient to ALLAH’s command. And the point behind that is but not limited to the example if there are 2 beautiful women one covering her self except face and hands the other one is wearing almost nothing and there is chance for one to get rapped which one do u think will be more in danger I don’t think any one will say the one covered because that’s out of sense. So ALLAH is commanding what’s good for every one for the women safety and for men not to get to crimes by rapping women. And statistics can give any one more details comparing civilized western countries that don’t believe in women cover and Muslim countries. U will see rape rate very clear in that issue.

muslim dont make their women wear that, its what god wants from the muslim womans and they believe in it becuz it gives them class, purity, and they dont have to reveal their beauty. On the other hand there is some muslim girls that do not wear the veal and cover their bodies some of them are fat and some of them are skinny, and alot of them actually look like what you look like in the west. So woman in general are beautiful fat or skinny and do not forget that your mother is a woman and sister, and your aunts etc, and im sure they are either fat or skinny, so dont be rude, muslim or non muslim woman are beautiful, they are our mothers our sisters our grandmothers, our world, "mother earth"
