The egg would stay on top of the hill because there were rocks around the egg like a nest therefore not letting the egg go anywhere regardless of which way the wind was blowing. Now if the wind would blow a rock away then by all means that would change the story tremendously..

To the bottom, whichever way the wind was blowing IF they laid eggs and your premise is that they do. If it went the way of the wind it would end up south-east, if you mean the wind was from the north-east. If it was blowing to the north-east, then I've reached my limit for thinking about this question as I have a short concentration span.... driving instructors weren't impressed by that explanation either!
