Me personally? I start the water boiling while I cook up the hamburger. I break the hamburger into large chunks (since I've never mastered making meat balls) and add oregano and basil to the meat. After draining and rinsing the meat, I return it to the pan and dump a jar of Prego over it, some mushrooms, and some chopped onion to simmer together while the spaghetti noodles cook. Our family likes to have a bed of noodles with a spoonful of sauce on top, rather than the entire batch mixed together. Served with a fresh salad and French bread, yummy and EASY! =)

Dear Fallen Angel,

First, get a 2 quart saucepan and put in 5 cups of cold water. Put on high heat until it comes to a boil. Add your spaghetti to the boiling water and turn down the heat to a simmer. Next, in another saucepan add 1 jar of spaghetti sauce. You can choose the brand you like but I recommend Prego (the darker the color, the better). Cook the sauce on medium heat until it begins to bubble. Turn down the heat, cover and simmer about 10 minutes. You can also add extra ingredients like garlic, cloves, onions (green), mushrooms, etc if you desire a chunkier sauce. Next, take the spaghetti noodles off the heat and pour out the hot water--you need to be careful here. Rinse the drained spaghetti in warm water several times and drain. Now take your spaghetti sauce off the stove and pour over the spaghetti noodles. You will need to stir the sauce into the noodles to get a homogenous mixture. Serve it hot with grated parmesian cheese.

Make sure you use enough water in a pot to cover the amount of noodles, then add some chicken stock or chicken soup to the water along with salt so your noodles will have some flavor. when the water starts to boil pour in spaghetti and just stir around until it begins to boil again then turn down the temperature, drain the spaghetti add butter, do not rinse the noodles unless you are doing a pasta salad.

First of all spaghetti sounds sooooo good I might just make that for dinner...lol.

Anyhow this is how I make it for my family:

Brown 1 or 2 pounds of ground beef (or a ground beef mixture mixed with ground sausage if you prefer)

Drain the grease

Pour tomato sauce over the browned beef ( you can use store bought like Prego or Hunts that is preseasoned or use plain tomato sauce and add oregano, parsley, garlic, onion, and other seasonings to taste....I use the pre seasoned kind)

You can add veggies if you want like mushrooms, green peppers, onions, celery and so on if you want to the sauce now

Let that simmer on medium heat....use a lid and stir often

Bring water to a boil and boil spaghetti noodles according to the package

Then once the noodles are done your sauce should be done too and all that is left is to eat it!

Add cheese after preparing it on your plate too....yum

I chunk up ground beef in a pan. While it is cooking I chop up onion, garlic, parsley, and throw in and cook with the ground beef. When it is cooked thoroughly I drain it very good, then I add lots of tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, a good red wine, sugar, sliced olives and simmer over low heat keeping my eye on it all the time because of the sugar I don't want it to stick on the bottom. Taste for spices and adjust. Sometimes I will add additional Italian blend spices too it just depends. Then, I will cook my noodles (any kind but, I like Rigatoni). I use lots of water with a good amount of salt. I cook them until you don't have any problem chewing them but, they are not mushy at all. I find that the time varies according to the maker of the noodle. Watch it and test it every so often. You can judge it just right if you are diligent with watching it.

Get a good grade of dried pasta. Boil a at least a 4 quart pan of highly salted water. When the water boils slip in the pasta a little at a time so the water will come back up to a boil. Stir. When the water comes back to a boil and all the pasta is in the pot then time for 9 minutes. Test to see if it is cooked as desired. For my family 9 minutes is good, we like it al dente. Strain and serve.

Bring plenty of water to the boil, add salt.....check cooking time on packet, drop the pasta in the water, stir it around,.. check after eg 7-10 minutes, if you want it al'dente ( to the teeth ) slightly still hard or if you prefer softer 1-3 minutes more...check again...drain....some people say add olive oil to the water to stop sticking....it works.....mix with you your choice off sauce.
good luck...but it's so easy.
