If you have the paper ones double or triple them up, put them on a cookie sheet and be careful not to overdo the amount of batter. It will work, I did it all the time before I had a muffin pan. Even better, get the foil cups and they stand up even better.

Not a stupid question, do you have Ramikin's, if not, grab a glass about the size of the cupcake paper and wrap some aluminum foil at the bottom and Presto a form to hold the Muffins in place.
Pass me the Butter please.

you can if you use the ones that are aluminum on the outside. i bought some by mistake once, didn't even know they had that kind but they will stand up by themselves because they still have the paper on the inside.
a fun substitute is ice cream cones too, kids like them and they work well, just fill them a little over 1/2 full and bake then frost. they're cute.

The cakes would just fall apart! Try putting them into mugs (not glasses) inside the cupcake papers.

I think you can do this if you use foil muffin liners instead of paper ones. They stand up a little better.

usually if you use the papers and place them on a flat pan and add less batter than anser is yes, but sometime they are a little flatter but it does work, makes them more intersting if you peel the paper after words and icing them like small individual cakes.

Yes you can but only fill them close to half full. The foil kind is best because they are thicker. If not then use more than one paper. It will be ok.

No. The batter is too heavy and you'll get a lump, not a muffin.
