I would understand AND be insulted! First, I would understand that the person is unwilling to do anything against his parents wishes - i.e. "A good son". - Next, I would understand that he is incapable of doing anything without his parents "blessing". - i.e. "A wimp". - next, I would be insulted that people have "labeled" me of being unworthy of their consideration as being a good, decent, honest person.

Under any circumstance, the whole bunch doesn't sound very open-minded, nor enlightened about those who "don't travel in their circles and don't meet their standards, without even knowing a person".

Sorry, but I have to vote "thumbs down" because of the stated reasons. -- I'd like to add that you seem to consider yourself "unworthy" to even ask the question. -- Trust me - The fact that you asked the question shows that you are not only intelligent, but knowing of others feelings, prejudices and hang-ups.

I wish you well in your pursuit of this relationship, but I doubt it will be a happy endeavor.

Bust regards,

John

If a boy says his family would not approve of me, then I would not date him. That is the worse situation that I would not want to be in. Find another boy , who's family is not so center orientated. Good thing to find out , before the first date. He is not worth it anyway to say something like that. Nothing would be good enough for him or his family. Sounds like a bunch of snobs.

Sounds either like a cultural thing or that their family has disapproved of another relationship he had. I certainly would not be offended as I wouldn't want to create any type of problem within the family setting and/or be a cause of any form of stive within the family.

I'd say he was looking for a way out...........If a man is truly into a woman, wouldn't matter one lick if his family approves or disapproves.

I could care less about whether some one approves of me or not. Never have, never will.
