I know after you run, you are supposed to walk a 'cool down' lap or fourth mile, just walking, to relax the muscles. Spurs and charlie horses aren't fun, let me tell you!!!

Its best to walk for a few minutes after running to let your heart slow down gradually rather than forcing your heart to go from very fast heartbeat to a resting heart rate.

because you'll cramp up and it hurts. Also when you run after a race of something make sure you don't rest your hands on your knees but put your hands on your head because that also will slow your blood to quickly.

Your muscles will cramp up, making them sore...
It hurts and it's definitely not helping your legs for future use.
