when i was still with my fiancee he bought me a 14 carat gold 1/4 carat diamond engagement ring. the ring cost about $500 US dollars. it was on sale, it was originally about $650. he also bought me a $100 necklace a week before he left me for another woman. we have a son together and money has been tight. he has not been contributing at all to help me. also i am now with a wonderful man. so i have decided to get rid of the trinkets of my past. how much do you think i will get for the ring and the necklace? they are about a year old, i hardly wore them. the necklace was brand new i wore it once. the ring i wore for awhile and then had it resized and cleaned around the time i stopped wearing it.

what do you think?
thanks all,

~Rikki

You might even wanna try e-bay or if you have a friend or family member who might either be interested or getting married soon. You can go to a pawn shop but I would not go with the first one because they will try to get it as cheaply as possible. Even tho you do not want them you and your daughter deserve a fair price for them...good luck hon!

Shop around -- don't go with the first place you try. I had a $90 pair of earrings about fifteen years ago that I wanted to get rid of - very small diamonds and solid gold posts and settings. Got $20 for them.

jewelery is bad news for selling at pawnshops. expect to get 20 bucks for the necklace and maybe 150 for the ring.

Call around to different local pawn shops, or you can try selling them on ebay for around the same amount he bought them for.
