That's too general. Yes, people get taller while growing up. The weight loss part is more detailed. You will lose baby fat (chubby cheeks, a more rounded edges on everything) and you can become more lean and defined for the most part. Some people think of that as getting skinnier. If you're an overweight child there is no reason for you to believe that if you get taller you will automatically get thinner. You may just gain weight as fast as you grow and stay overweight. I depends on your metabolism and your diet.
For the most part, your metabolism is pretty fast when your a teenager that's why a lot of kids get skinny for awhile during those years. Some teens, especially boys, have a growing spurt where they get super tall in a short period of time but aren't really gaining much weight (muscle, fat, whatever). I had a high school boyfriend that grew to over 6' but he weighed about 135. He looked like a walking skeleton. He used to eat 3 Big Macs at a time and he couldn't gain weight. He didn't properly fill out until his early 20s and he's now over 170 and looks "normal". If he tried eating those Big Macs today, he'd start to get fat.
I pretty much stopped growing at age 12 when I reached just over 5'5" (I had gotten my period when I was 10/11) and I weighed 125. I was considered "tall" back then. By the time I was 14, I had probably gained another 1/4 inch but it stopped there. When I was 14, I weighed 112 but I was a vegetarian and not eating well. I looked too thin and slightly sick. Today, I'm 28 and about 125 lbs but I don't have the "baby fat" in my cheeks and stuff so I actually look thinner than when I was 12 and weighed the same amount. I'm not considered tall anymore since a lot of people I know ended up growing taller than me.

True that. Not just love stories. It's foolishness to compare any part of life with movies.

it could work oput that way but you are gonna have to help it by controlling the amount you eat of each thing on the table. start now while you're young controlling how much you eat. do not skip meals but do not over eat at any meal.

No. Girls are done growing as soon as their periods are regular.
Fat cells are developed when you're young and they never disappear, so it's in your best interest to avoid gaining.

You can certainly outgrow so called "baby fat" but you can also keep it for the rest of your life. Eat a sensible diet and stay active, and be healthy.
