You need to first have your mind that your going to get this done. Then your going to have to throw away all the food that you brought items such as cookies, cakes, Kool-aid ( I am african-american) I drank gallons of kool aid. Contains to much sugars. Go out and subsitute your sweets for fruits, any fruit that you like and buy them weekly, set up like a bowl of fruits. Buy spinach if its safe, or lettuce so that you can eat alot of salads. Drink around 6-8 glasses of water. To make sure you get your daily water intake label 6-8 cups on a table and have them facing up once you take a glass of water thru out the day
flip them down and ull be reminded or take a notebook. Water cures all :) .Just drink water with your meals or like diet sugar-less drinks for a while. Eat more fish and chicken. Stay far away from FRied Foods, they have way to much calories to burn in a day. It things that are grilled. If your a beef fan. eat lean-beef. but they are more expensive than chicken and what not. No pork, subsitute your bacon with turkey bacon, or chicken if they got those lol.
Everything is all in the mind, People don't tell you this but your gonna have to want to do it. Surround yourself with the people that eat healthy and excersise normally. For you i suggest just walking daily. Take your ipod or whatever and walk for about 30 mins for a couple of months, do this for 3 times a week. Remember your diet won't work if you dont excersise and diet. ITs for maximum performance. Take a friend with you if your the type that needs company.

But if you want more tips email me or encouragement.Jmonie02@yahoo.com. I am a typically college student. I ended my soccer career last year and I don;t want to gain weight like all my fellow teamates. I am 22 and about 218lbs and 6'4 1/2 . I recently started the "ABS diet" because i want a full blown six pack. but Its a book i got for about 15 bux at the mall. So if your really serioius, get this book because it tells you to eat all you want but just eat healthy. I am doing it, i feel good and have a new thought on life. Most obese people just eat anything and everything. Markets are just trying to make a buck but this book tells you which company is actually good. :)

First off, if you want to look better, throw your scale into the dumpster. Its useless. Muscle is what makes you look good (women too), and muscle weighs more than fat. Judge your results in the mirror. The scale is just going to punish and discourage when you're actually doing a good job.

I've heard a lot of people say the way to look better is to eat less, and that simply isn't true. If you eat less you're just going to lose energy. Shoot for your recommended calorie intake. I'd guess yours is around 1700. Spread your eating out to 6-7 meals per day, or something small every 2 hours. This will get your body out of starvation mode and program it to start using that energy instead of hording it as fat cells. Get yourself a high protein, vitamin rich diet, and switch from white flour to whole grains. Stay away from butter, mayo, too much salt, candy, etc. Drink plenty of fluids.

Bring a portable DVD player and a 32 oz powerade to the treadmill every other day. Maintain your target heart rate through half the movie. The time will fly by, and you'll feel great.

Do your weight training on the off days. Upper body mostly, so your lower body isn't sore on the days you do your cardio.

Get plenty of sleep, as in 8-10 hours. And pick one day out of the week for complete relaxation. You build muscle while your body is resting, not while you are working out. More muscle = better cardio performance = faster results. Your body's resting metabolism is also increaced while its building muscle and repairing itself. So you'll be burning calories while you rest.

you can do it or get very close to 150 by june 10.

let's say if you start this monday and your goal is to lose 2 pounds per week (which actually should be > safe) by june 10 you'd be 155 and by june 24 you'd be 149. it's very possible.

lift weights, do cardio, cut back on your food intake, drink lots of water (about a gallon a day), monitor your food on a daily/weekly basis, and most important think "LONG TERM". think about how you will keep that weight off after you reach your goal.

do whatever is most confortable to you, the most realistic book is Bob Greene. Use his book as a guideline, but don't be afraid to change it up to your needs (everyone is different).

good luck

I did a one liter bottle of water ten times a day,(that's three gallons of water a day) It was tough to do. Then I ate three meals a day of greens and pasta with tuna and many other foods that didn't have my favorite Vitamin G(rease).
I then ran a whole mile and a half sometimes. It was hard and I couldn't really do well, but I never did walk. I always ran even if I was jogging slow.
I went from 228 pounds to 204 pounds in 2 months. Then I joined Marine corps and I went down another 35 pounds or so.

Semper Fi.

I lost 60 lbs in 4-5 mos, by powerwalking 3miles every other day, and doing 6 min of good crunches along with a workout video for trouble spots, ie buns of steel...(i know showing my age lol) abs of steel ( whatever dvd for abs u get make it for men its a much better workout) I also cut salt, and pop out of my diet, broiled, or grilled any meat and mostly ate chicken breast. Iexcept for that i didnt really change my diet too much, and cut my portions in half. And make sure u eat 4-5 small meals a day, helps ur metabolism dont starve ur self or just eat once a day not good. Also the discovery channel is about to kick off its National Body Challenge, great to keep up the motivation! u also get a free membership to Bally's, and u can invite others to join ur group, or join a group. Remember to drink lotsa water! and GOOD LUCK! I wish u well! You can do it!.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

I am sure that is VERY possible!!! I lost 54 lbs....here is my before and after picture http://www.healthandstrength.net

YOU CAN DO IT...with that much time, you will lose it VERY healthily and keep the weight off and look hot.
Here is what I did to lose my weight

1. NEVER EVER ate sugar. It's a poison that makes us older, sicker, fatter and tired...all things we dont want. Seriously, sugar is the one who does the dirty work in weight gain. Stop eating it all together. You can see my list of ingredients to avoid when shopping here http://www.healthandstrength.net/qofweeka.htm...
2. Drink ALOT of water. 2-3 liters a day. The more the merrier! We need about half our body weight in ounces JUST for regular body functions! When you feel thirsty, that means you are already dehydrated and lose brain function. Water flushes toxins from your fat cells and keeps you younger.
3. Exercise!!! So very important. Here http://www.healthandstrength.net/abexe.htm... are my favorite ab exercises. I also do cardio 4-5 days a week for about 30 minutes a time.
4. Eat less. How many calories do you think is in that burger or that plate of fries or in that handful of chips. What about overfilling our plates? If you go here http://www.healthandstrength.net/qofweek.htm... I wrote something about saving on calories and losing weight.
5. Go to sleep before 10pm. Your body starts repairing and rebuilding and speeding up weight loss while you sleep only if you sleep at about 10pm. If you are awake and go to bed at 12, you miss out on that very important time.
6. BE POSITIVE. Be thankful every day and love yourself
7. BE CONSISTANT! That I think is the KEY to losing weight. So what if you went a week and only lost a pound...or didnt lose any...KEEP going. DON'T stop. This is a lifelong commitment, so stick to it and one day you will open your eyes and need a new wardrobe!
8. Eat more veggies and skinny friendly foods. I have my list of my top ten foods that I ate to lost weight here http://www.healthandstrength.net/tenfoods.htm...
80% veggies at every meal including breakfast will keep you young and help you lose weight.

Good luck, and remember that ONLY YOU decide what goes into your body. What goes into your body will determine how you LOOK, FEEL and AGE. So make a healthier choice! And NEVER EVER give up

That's a lot of weight to lose in only 8 months. I would suggest buying a new book by Doctor Oz and his partner. Then follow the procedures and directions to the letter. This Doctor was on Opera yesterday and seems to have it together. The book is out now in bookstores. anyway, if Opera thinks this guy is OK, then he's OK.

This works great for me..
Try do any kind of vigorous exercise 3x a day for 15 minutes. I power walked, went up and down my basement stairs, raked leaves, jump rope, anything to get my heart beating.
It takes commitment but it works. It has something to do with keeping your metabolism working.
Also I kept away from white sugar products. For me white sugar gave my body an energy burst that doesn’t last and drained me after my sugar high was over. It was very hard for me to get over the sugar withdraw the first 3 days . It took about a week to get my body trained.
I went from size 14 to size 10 in about 5 months. STAY AWAY from McDonalds, Chips and Crackers.. " these gave me sugar cravings HUGE" I have fallen off the diet wagon and feel low energy but now you have motivated me to get in the swing again. Thanks

For me, the best ways to lose weigth are to take up a sport and to avoid soy products. Sports are a ton of fun. I do Karate twice a week. Also, avoiding soy is a good thing to do anyway. It keeps you away from preservatives and hydorgonated oils that can harm your body.
