This is a CLASSIC example of the "double standard bearers" of
the Neo-Con Fascist Oh-So-Holy-And-Righteous "Con"-servative
Right who want to take over this country and shove THEIR
partiarkal Jesus-god down our throats, commanding US to behave
in what THEY consider "moral" fashion, and to "pray" and "obey"
their vengeful, bloodthirsty Jehovah/Jesus god and his "chosen
leaders" by rejecting everything that makes us human -
compassion for the poor and the sick, tolerance and kindness to
"strangers" who are "different," natural curiosity about other
peoples, their customs and gods as well as the natural and
Unseen world, and the ability to laugh and love who we choose in
ways that are comfortable and natural for US as individuals.

Amid allegations of a three year affair with a male escort, Rev.

Normally, I would have no problem whatsoever with a man who
finds it natural to love other men - except that the "Reverend"
Haggard has built his career whipping up fear and hatred against
the very kind of person that HE HIMSELF has been exposed as!!

Is this the most hypocritical scandal in the religious right's
Hall of Hypocrisy?

I didn't write this question, I just posted it.. DON'T kill the messenger. To each their own, but 30 million people followed and trusted this man. And he was a false profit to say little.. No dissin Christianity, but as Gandhi so elloquently put it; "I would turn to Christianity if it were not for Christains"..

They make you sick. There's not a week goes by without some bonking bishop, pervert priest or some other religious crank in the news. They get away with it as well 99% of the time.

It is however standard operating procedure for the average Christian, the whole do as I say,not as I do thing. And if he plays his cards right he should be back in business in a few years, filling up his collection plates, skimming off the top of that for a nice lifestyle, and all the sheeple will be happy as long as he says he's sorry and is more discreet next time around with his homosexual affairs,as long as he still speaks against homosexuals.

PS to girl speaking of holocaust being used as a generalization of pagans,I get her point don't generalize based on one example, but she needs to do a little research, one of the biggest reasons that many groups want to outlaw the sale of NAZI parephenalia is not outcry from jewish groups,it's silent pressure from Christian groups because of all the Christian symbology that can be found in even WW2 era NAZI parephenalia and writings, sorry girl but you simply had your facts wrong.

First off just becuz a person is evangelical does not mean they disagree with most of what you said. I am sure that you do not like it if people think all atheists are hetero sexual, so do not act like those you dislike.

It is possible to believe almost everything you state and still be a good old fashioned Bible thumper, in fact I am absolutely positive that most true Christians think similarly on these same issues. Many of us are ashamed our brethern have been so gullible as to fall for all this merchant propagated crap that enslaves us all as you are.
You'd think one as insightful as you would play it like,, the foolish ones,, were mislead instead of going on the attack. Are you not aware that when attacked deviant behavior does not disappear but goes underground and gets stronger thus comes round and bites you in the a$$ latter. Please stop acting immature. You toO have been led astray by those who would divide those of us who would like to stop the assault on us by the merchants who accumulate wealth until there is nothing left to buy but power. Quit bein a divider a$$ and start trying to be a uniter and not not like that turkey who who knows D well he is not a Christian but says he is so he can practice his war mongering ways.

WAKE UP!!!

Well he wasn't a real christian he may have been head of the church but he was not put there by God, I don't think God would choose a man like that.

However I bet they let him back after he says sorry folks wont do it again
There is too much money involved for him to get a 9 to 5 job like the rest of us

In light of current events right before the midterm elections may this give people pause to reflect on the error of dogma. Religion or religious dogma equals conformity equals injustice and hypocrisy. the path of the people is not the path of the politician. so remember this when you cast your votes......

The hypocracy comes from those who hide behind the pulpit. but are not men of God, and will be revealed to the world in God's time. Not all "preachers' are called to the pulpit by God, but put themselves up there for their own glory. They shall fail and be exposed, just as this "preacher" was.

John 7:4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

The sins of all mankind will be displayed for everyone to see before we leave this world. I am glad that this "pastor" has resigned, as he should have. He is an abomination to stand behind the pulpit and point fingers at sinners, while he himself is doing exactly what he is preaching God's word against them.

He is no better than the rest of us are, but will be punnished more harshley by God, because he did stand behind the pulpit and is expected to stand above those he leads and being rightous in the eyes of God and worthy of teaching His word to others.

Not all men who claim to be called to the pulpit by God actually are called by God. A good many of them are false prophets that change the word of God just enough to knock good God fearing Christians off track.

But those who are wise will stay in the word of God, when they are at home and not only when they are in church, so they will be educated in the word, and will not fall for the false teachings of the false church leaders.

Satan will look for any crack in a Church family to try to weaken its' faith in God, the way it was done with this man called Ted. Christianity is not hypocratic, but satan will do his very best to make it look like it is. Praise the Lord for shedding His light upon that Chruch, and ridding it of that false teacher.!!

Ya know, I know what he did is very very wrong but I get tired of others painting every Christian with the same brush.

Is the holocaust a "classic" example of pagans?

Why does nobody remember Mother Theresa?

Haggard is a bad example, of course, but it would be foolish to generalize his behavior to anyone else. It is much better to attack religion on the absurdity of its beliefs (not to mention easier) than to throw ad hominem potshots.

Living in the secular UK I find all of this perplexing. How this cancer of evangelical Christianity ever managed to get its claws into American society is beyond me. It's time to stop being tolerant-aggressively confront these people and their beliefs and get them rooted out of your society.
