You're asking the wrong question. You don't do sit ups to burn calories. You do them to build abdominal muscles. Cardio work - like jogging, biking, or aerobics - is for burning calories.

If you do enough sit ups, you will build muscle. Muscle burns more calories than fat. So you won't be burning calories WHILE doing the sit ups. You'll be burning them when you sit around and when you sleep.

Depends on the speed you do them at and how many you do.

Just for the record, there are safety issues with situps (lower back discs). Try doing crunches instead they target exactly the same muscle group(s) but without any risks.

There are many good fitness exercise sites that you can google for that tell you the proper form you should have when doing them.

It depends on how much you weigh and how fast you do them. Figure 75 calories for 15 minutes.

Keep in mind that if you do fast sit ups you're not toning your abs just burning calories. The slower the sit-up the harder it is the more you building abs.
