Yes, it appears to be that way.
No need to get all caught up in the truth is relative or absolute semantics.
Either truth is relative or it is absolute; there is no middle ground with this debate.
As many prominent philosophers and ethicist have stated, there is both relative and absolute truth in the world of humanity.
To sum up this dilemma: Relative truth has no absolute meaning, and absolute truth has no relative meaning.
If there is no absolute truth in the world, then there are no good or bad reasons to do anything, and therefore life on Earth and even in the rest of the Universe loses all meaning and value.
Relative truth is just a term created to level the playing field of all beliefs so that no belief system or religion can be called the one true religion or belief system like so many of them claim, but really relative truth is a paradox, because it is not truth at all, but is just a more dignified term for the term "opinion."

A relative truth as applied to a set of beliefs has nothing to do with facts. What may be the truth for one person may not necessarily be the truth for another.

Truth isn't relative. Only belief is relative.
Apparently many people are unable to distinguish between the two. Christians typically do not SAY that truth is relative, but many many of them act in a way that reveals that they deeply believe that it is. The relativism thing is a bigger problem among Christians than it is among atheists.

No, because not all facts are obvious and not everything that is obvious, is a fact.
Therefore saying, Truth is relative, is not absolute, as everything that is relative, is not the truth. . . . . . . . . . for openers.

Genuine truth is absolute. Opinion is relative, including of course opinions concerning what is the truth. To say "truth is relative" simply means that what you are dealing with is not real truth at all, but only someone's opinion about what is true. This is the case in the teaching of denominational churches. Obviously their conflicting and often contradictory teachings cannot all be true, for genuine truth cannot conflict with itself. But since their various teachings are really only opinions about the truth - specifically, opinions about the meaning of various Bible passages - such opinions, unlike genuine truth, can conflict all over the place. And they do.
Jesus wanted more for us than such unauthoritative guesswork. He said the truth would set us free. Therefore He must have provided a means of knowing the truth with absolute and objective certainty, not just feeling absolutely certain about our own subjective opinions. He did. He founded one Church, guaranteed the truth of its teaching, and said that all men were to belong to this one Church. Those who do belong to His Church will always have the fullness of Christian truth. Those who don't will always have to guess.

TRUTH:
what GOD Thinks, Says and Does
Parallel Truth: If you don't Understand TRUTH then you have to try to Explain it with "Parables" (parallel Truth)
Sin: any Perversion (Twisting) of what GOD Thinks, Says and Does
Technically, only GOD can Tell the Truth---if WE try (and we should Always try to) Tell the Truth, AND if we don't Say EVERYTHING just Right, then we Lied.
GOD said all men are Liars.
Not because we Try to tell the Truth to Things as WE know it (which we Should) but WE really don't Know HOW to tell Anything EXACLTLY.
See, GOD isn't being an AXX when HE said all men are Liars.
GOD just can't LIE.
(Hahahaha, Wow, never thought I would get Through THAT one, and still not Offend anyone!)

If you say truth is relative, then it will be your truth only. You are the one who sees it. you make it relative. that is too much for my little brain to wrap around, so I think truth is a universal fact...much easier for me

You're right in saying that the claim, "truth is relative" is not a fact. I don't know of any Christians who would say that. Anyway, you're on the right track.
