Having you been feeling sick a lot lately?
Short answer to how you feel with thyroid problems, is like hell!
Thyroids regulate your entire body: skin, hair, nails, lungs, heart, metabolism, sex hormones (fertility), brain, and I could go on. They can cause no symptoms, 1 symptom up to 100's of symptoms! Good thing that you are getting tested and checked out.
Now, since we don't have all day, I cannot go into the complexities of thyroid and diabetes. My suggestion is to run to the library or closest Barnes and Noble Bookstore and pick up a book on thyroid. One easy to understand one is Mary Shamon's "Living Well With Hypothyroidism". That's a good place to start. Don't like books, go to about.com and go into their health area or thyroid forums.

I was diagnosed with hypo-thyroidism 10 years ago. The symptoms were a pronounced thyroid lump in the neck which you can see, pronounced tiredness and inability to think clearly because I was too tired. The pill prescribed is very cheap and very effective. You must take it the rest of your life, but it makes you normaMF

Good luck!

If you are hypothyroid(not enough) you will feel tired, lethargic and may gain weight. You might also start losing your hair. If you are hyperthyroid(too much) your heart could race, you can lose weight. Hyperthyroid is more serious than the other but you need to see a doctor for either.
