Our daughter is Brooklyn Rachelle Burke

If she chooses to go by Brook when she gets older, she will be Brook Burke, which kinda rhymes But there is someone famous named Brook Burke, and I'm sure no one gives her crap, so oh well.

Dathan Akins isnt REALLY rhymey like Robert Bobert or something. That would be horrible, but I think you are safe.

Just stay away from giving your child a name where the first name ends in the same letter that the last name starts with. Like Bob Brown. Those kinds of names either end up getting run toghether (BobBrown), or spoken extra abruptly to avoid running them together (Bob....Brown)

Plus, I cant think of anything annoying that rhymes with Dathan or Akins, so thats good. You know how kids like to rhyme stuff. My mother wanted to name my brother Lucas, but I was like "no mommy! kids will call him Mucus!" LOL. kids are like that.

I like different names so..... No, I think it is very unique myself. I suppose if you are worried about him being teased because of the Akins diet and name sounding like a diet pill, then you may want to reconsider. Dathan is at least different and he won't have to wonder if he is the one being spoken to, since there isn't many with this name that I have heard of.

I like the first name a lot. But it doesn't work with the last name. It's kind like a tongue twister. Maybe you could use Dathan as his middle name.

I went to school with a kid named Dathan. Very original. I like it. I love original names. Mine are Cadence and Rylan.

But it kind of sounds like a country singers' name when you say it all together. Hmm...

I always think about what the kids at school will say and if the name would provoke schoolyard teasing. With the vowel sounds so similar, it would be a perfect setup for teasing to rhymes.

It's not a bad name, but.... People may think his name is supposed to be Nathan and that he has a cold or something
