Mu aunt & uncle are long timd members of thePresbyterian Church. They were both very active. My uncle was an Elder and taught for many years. He passed away in October and my aunt told us that on Sunday, November 5th, he is to be honored as a saint. I had never heard of this and am interested in knowing more about this topic.

I guess depending on what Presbyterian Church you attend. But I've attended a Presbyterian church for a few year's now and I have never heard of that Myself. Ask them what Presbyterian Denomination they are in. Because there is many at least 30 different Presbyterian Denominations and you can do some searches online to find out more. But to let you know I have Never heard of anything like this.

Onlythe Catholic church has the authority to declare someone a saint, but this does not mean that only people deemed saints by the Catholic church are in heaven.

It is not what God instructs us to do in His word in the Bible. These practices are that of man and not of God.

Saints according to God is anyone and everyone who accepts Jesus and lives according to his word.

Psalms 97:10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

We are not to put a spot light on anyone other than God Himself. God will reward those who serve Him in His own time and His own way.

It's just like fasting. When we fast for God, don't do it with the long sad face so people see you suffering. Well, what you do for the Lord is done for Him and not for personal acknowledement by others, for God shall reward them in His own time. That chruch is wrong with what they are doing. My Aunt's church built a wing that was added to her church and named it after her, and to this day I feel uncomfortable with that. My aunt is a goddly woman, but God has His own rewards for her in His kingdom.

Matthew 6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
