Absolutely. Growing up, we built 'sandboxes' for the dogs to go into... a base of gravel, topped off with sand, & that was their box. They knew going outside to do their business in the box.

The way to start is designate an area of your yard for the dog to go in. Don't make it all the way in the back, or they may not make it every time! Make sure to make it obvious to your dog, either by fencing it off, laying a footing, or building small walls to box it in.

When you let your dog out, put it on a loose lead & walk out with your dog. Use a command, such as 'go now', and wait until your dog does #1 or #2, then follow up with praise. (you can repeat the phrase as often as needed, & wait a second before praising so you don't break the dogs concentration)

Once your dog understands going on command (should take a day or two if you are very consistent & treat rewards help), then bring the dog to the area you want it to use. Give that a command also, like 'in your box' (if it isnt an actual box, dont worry, the dog doesnt know that!).

Now you have two commands, 'in your box' & 'go now'. At this point, it is important to help guide the dog to stay in the boxed area before doing its business, & then give immediate praise, followed by letting the dog explore other areas of the yard...

Make sure you are consistent, & if your dog states they dont have to go, then bring them inside until the next opportunity. Once they have gone in the area, they can play in the yard (but be watchful, if they only did #1, they may have #2 coming soon, especially after running around. You want to be around to escort the dog back to the box)

Good luck!

Yes, you can. I did it. You have to section off the part of the yard you want him to stay in when he poops, and everytime you let him out to go potty, take him to the sectioned area until he poops, then let him out. Make sure you praise him, too. You have to keep on this until he learns. It took my dog a few weeks to get it down. Good luck!!

Very Possible. U can be directing the dog to a particular area where you want it to poop. If it poop's some where else hit him and take him to where you want him to. If you keep doing that, he will start doing it. But if you can, you can get a dog trainer to do that for you.

yeah. whenever it poops somewhere unwanted, move it to the wanted spot and keep doing that until it gets the hint, or if it's a puppy, you can put it on a leash while taking it outside so it can only poop near the spot you want until it gets used to that spot.

Yes, I have two chihuahuas, and they poop in the house in the hallway, I put a pad (called wee wee pads) down for them to use, they go striaght to it, for poop and pee. You have to scold them whenever they go somewhere else and move them to their special spot. Point at the spot you want them to go and say...Potty, Potty! They will learn in time.

Yes there are chemicals you can spray that they smell but you don't and they don't like it so they won't go there. Try the Petbutler website
