I've been dating this guy for about 3 months. He broke up with his girlfriend of 3 years right before moving here (we're at grad school). He says he loves me, but I can't get past the ex-factor. For some reason, I'm really intimidated by her because they dated for so long. Anyway, she sends him text messages all the time, and she calls him a lot, too. Over Fall Break, he went home, and told me he was going to see her for dinner (the first time since they broke up). I found a text on his phone from her that said she was at the airport trying to find his flight. He told me his brother picked him up from the airport. He says he's no longer in love with her and that he really loves me. In fact, he's always talking about our future, like what would happen if we got married. I know he still cares about his ex because she's a good friend. I probably shouldn't be suspicious, but I can't figure out why he wouldn't tell me she picked him up. Am I stupid to still love him? Help!

He probably still has feelings for his ex if i were you i would just let him go and move and.But if you really want to be with him tell him to stop talking to her and if he really wants to have something with you he will but if not then youre going to know hes not worth it.I've been in thins kind of situation before it hurts knowing there was someone else in your bf's past, do what you think is best for you.

As a couples I think both of you should be frank with each other. If he starts to hide certain things from you, I think he may still has some feelings for his ex. You must tell him on how you feel especially the way he treated his ex coz if you don't tell him how you feel now, when things don't turned out well for you then it is too late coz by then you may have been hurt too deeply. You have to think what is the best solution for you and think it over carefully .

confront him about it, thats the only way you'll ever find out if he's playing u or not...ask him y he said his brother picked him up, but then u found a text on his phone from The X, and just admit u went through the phone, i dont think that's the big issue there

His brother may have still picked him up she just may have wanted to be there when he arrived. If he really loves you then you should be able to tell him that it bothers you that he text messages and talks to his ex so much. He should understand.

Tell him how you feel. Tell him that you're okay with them being friends but since she's a girl, especially since she's his ex, that he needs to be completely honest with you. If not, walk, good relationships a based on honesty, and you don't need to take that kind of crap from him.

Sit down over a nice dinner or something and ask him straight forward, "What do you Want, me or her?" listen to his answer with a open mind. If he says he just wants to be friends with her, let him, guys don't like to be put on a short leash. But if he says her....well I don't know....

Hope that helps!
