it is nice just to core the apples and put your butter and sugar and cinnamon in the place of the core and bake them that way ,,,,,it makes a nice presentation...be sure just to leave a little at the bottom dont go all the way thru and your butter sugar and cinnamon will remain in the apple ...i have done them this way for 40 years and would do them any different...

If you are using peeled apples in your recipe--think about it, its easier to peel the apple before you core and slice or you have 8 pieces to peel individually. Peel first, then core and slice.

However, remember also that the peel is what contains the vitamins. Why not make applesauce instead? Leave the peels on and when you cook the apples down puree the skins into it, making for a nice pinkish cast to the sauce and keeping the vitimins that are in the peels...

It's easier to peel a whole apple with a peeler. Then you can use the slicer/corer.

Dear Dont Know,
Personally, I wouldnt peel the apple. But If you dont want the peeling it is better to peel first then slice. There is less risk of getting cut. Especially if you use a peeler rather than a knife.
Happy Peeling. PZB

if you are going to be using a slicer and corer i would reccomend peeling the apples first. for general use/eating i would leave the peel on as its got tons of nutrients

I use one of those corers, and I peel mine after, it just seems faster that way. I do it while I am making sure all the little bits of core are gone.
