I know that many people are exteremly upset by the actions of Ted Haggard and are seriously contemplating not returning to church anymore beacause of the faith lost with Ted.
A pastor is to be rightious, and teach those in the community of right and wrong etc...
Your thoughts??

Why are these people putting their faith in the pastor when they should be placing all of their faith in God and in His word? If they did what God instructs us to do, and study our bible every day, when the pastor of the church starts to fall away from the truth of God's word, you will be able to recognize when and if that starts to happen. Don't place all of your faith and conficence in man, but place it in God.

Plsams 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

I've read some of the reports on this man, and I beleive that first of all, not all pastors are called to the pulpit by God. Some of them are there for their own glory. But if this man was called to the pulpit by God, and has done the things the reports claim, and they are not things of his past that he may have repented of, this pastor needs to step down from the pulpit and stop leading the church if he cannot control his own self.

1 Timothy 3:5
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
without Mark 4:11, 1st Cor 5:12, Col 4:5

8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

I wouldn't know Ted Haggard if I stumbled over him in an empty field with a Ted Haggard sign with a photo id tied around his neck. However, these scandal-mongers need to be de-frocked or whatever it's called for good. If he repents, he can stay as part of the church, but no more ministry.

I read the story and I think it's right that it blows up in his face. He'll probably come back with a "Do as I say, not as I do" attitude anyway though.

I saw the interview with him on "The Root of All Evil?" (a dubiously named documentary) and I wasn't impressed by his attitude then "don't be arrogant" were his words but he was acting a smarmy git throughout the entire thing.

I am a little bit suspect over the fact that the guy he apparently slept with failed a lie detecter though.

The mistakes made by man should not have any effect on church-goers. They might have lost faith with Haggard, but certainly not with God. They need to think about that before making any rash decisions. We are to follow God's Word, not man's.

He's just another hypocrite in the religious right wing. Like Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart and so many others who criticize people and take money for nothing, he is as dirty as they come.

I doubt any of them are upset with haggard--they're upset with the boyfriend. They all do equally unchristian things, and feel sorry for haggard that he got caught
