i bought ckae that had a k triangled with a d next to it.is this a kosher symbol

Yes, that is a kosher symbol. The little D means "Dairy."

This is specified so that a person knows not to mix that food with a meat dish. In the Kosher laws, you can't mix meat and dairy at the same meal. So that's why the d is there.

There are several kosher symbols besides that one.

The most well-known one is a circled U. That is the symbol of the Orthodox Union, so if it has that symbol, it has been approved of as kosher from Orthodox Rabbis.

yes it means the product has been certified Kosher and Dairy. Other symbols for Kosher products are a K in a circle or a U in a circle. If it has a P next to it, it means that the product is Parve meaning neither meat nor Dairy.
