hmm.. The Gospel of Judas says (if you believe in it's veracity) that Judas was actually Jesus' favorite, and he set the whole betrayal/crucifixion up with Judas beforehand. It claims that Judas was the only one of the 12 who understood the parables, without needing explanations, and Jesus looked much more favorably on him than the others.
I'm not saying I believe it, being an atheist, however it does change things, doesn't it, if it turns out to be the real deal?

I think so, after all Judas was a disciple and did go on teaching and sharing God's word after the Crucifixion. Also, Judas only did what he was called to do, and he listened. More than we can say for ourselves most times!

Judas is never meant as a compliment. Judas is always viewed as being a betrayer. If you want to take that as a compliment, be my guest.

I know your reasoning. If the enemy insults you, that's a compliment. The problem is that not all Christians are my enemy. Only the nagging and dominating ones.

noooo! calling them a Yoodas would be a compliment. because that is not altering his name, in violation of the command that many version do. calling them a liar with any name that is a lie, is realy an instult according to TheWay G-D sees this.
since most people are unaware that TheSon of Man must die, according to TheTorah in a wold of disbelief. and be resurrected as adam and chaooah(not miss, translated as eve), to reveal This OUR IMAGE of HE AND SHE(as Yeshooah is HOO VHEE; YHVH), given to HIM. shalomcha vshalomech!!!

I don't think Judas was an atheist, he was unsaved and a betrayer.
