I only played for one year, but here's what our coach had us do.

1)Box jumps, really annoying, but they help you. Or if you doon't have a wooden box, try stairs, or bleachers.
2)Leg Sleds-excersise equipment, strengthens your legs, start out with 25 pounds then work your way up.
3)Runnin laps-we had to do like 8 laps before we even started practicing.
4)sit on the wall- not too sure what the proper term is, but you put your back straight against a wall and sit down until your thighs are straight, sit like this for 5 to 10 minutes.
5)Star jumps- kinda like jumping jacks, you have to jump as high as you can using you arms only, cant use your legs or both, trust me when I say this, its hard.
6)When you jump, get a running start, depends on what you are doing like spiking, or jump serving. When you are jump serving start at the wall, throw the ball up, and run until you are about 5-10 inches from the ball, then bend your knees as far as you can go, and jump. For spiking you do almost the same but when the setter sets the ball, tak either 3 or 5 steps then bend your knees and jump, bringing your arms up as you jump. be sure you land with you knees bent. it helps for leverage.
7)use hurdles-if you use them it helps for jumping
and finally
8)do things to strengthn your legs, it helps, your legs and arms are important in volleyball. hope this helps, and good luck

By jumping with at least a kilogram of weight on each ankle - that is leaping and landing on the same point, whilst bending your legs in midair.

In the 70s Polish men would trainby carrying at least 5kg additional weights whilst clearing bars (jumping).

my coach tells us to stand by a door....reach your hands up above the door fame and jump while reaching above. Each time trying to reach higher up. Do like 50-100 of these at a time, a few reps everyday. She said a girl increased her vertical jump by a few inches(at least 4) doing this,(over a years time)

PRACTICE and do leg strengthening exercises.
When I played we did box jumps (which of course everyone hated but really worked).
It's amazing how fast you can move up levels on the boxes.
Also, buy shoes designed specifically for volleyball.
Asics are my favorites.
