Nanka Sahib, about 2hrs from Lahore, it is the most important place in Sikhism. Although not a Sikh I have been many times because I have family there. I've been to the Gudwara as well and its such a beautiful place with huge grand buildings adorned with gold. There is lots of parkland, as well as all the facilities needed for pilgrims including accommodation. Would just like to say that the Sikhs and Muslims in the town get on swimmingly well, which I think is really nice.
Also, the significance is that this is the place of Guru Nanaks birth, and there is a Huge holy book there (forget the name) which I think represents the Guru himself but I'm not sure.

. One is adjacent to the Badshai mosque in Lahore which has a sikh temple. The two buildings are adjacent/joined. The Sikhs fought against the Moguls who goverened from Lahore at one period in history.
. Guru Nanak (founder of sikhism) was born in Sheikhapura (about 30miles west of Lahore) in 1469. He was married at the age of 12 and he started his new religion in 1496 in Sultanpur.
. About 20miles north of islamabad that is what is said to be the imprint of Guru Nanak's hand after he held back a stone/boulder with his hand.
Guru Nanak started Sikhism when he claimed he had revelations from God and tried to combine Hinduism and Islam (which are basically incompatible).
