I am doing a project on Islamic people and their contobutions to medicine. I just can't find anything on how they helped improve hospitals.

The link given above has a lot of information about Arabs & Muslims contribution to today's science and medicine.
If your question is about today's medicine, unfortunately the answer would be very hard as our today's achievements are not indexed by race, religion, or geographical location as it used to be in the past. But, you can still look up Islamic names like Ahmed, Muhammed, Adel, Abdullah... etc on the following site. It won't give you all Muslims' contribution to today's medicine as the result will be limited by your search keywords, but at least will give you an idea.
