You can ask your fiance what she might like, or find a unique gift from your country that you would like to share with her. A nicely framed photo of yourself and her son, or a nicely framed photo of the three of you together, could be an excellent gift. Or if she's coming to see you, get a spa day out or something similar, that way the two of you will have a chance to go and do womanly things together and get to know each other better. Best of luck! It's very considerate to be thinking of things to do to make this a nice relationship, because so many people have problems getting along with their in-laws.

A great idea for a personal and unique gift is a handmade painting made from a photo that you send.

If you are really sure your going to be married to her son ask your soon to be hubby what her taste are in jewelry. A simple pendant with her favorite stone would be a nice touch.

My mother-in-law is great. I like to get her something cute and fluffy. She gave me my husband and hes cute and a bit furry, so I like to return the favour

take some flowers with you, i suggest foxgloves. if you like her you can caution her against inhaling the pollen, if you think she is going to be an atypical mother in law, tell her the flowers are an edible treat just for her

p.s. foxgloves contain digitalis, a well know and extremely lethal poison, have been trying to get the kids round here to lick my flower for ages all to no avail
