It is said that man is created in God’s image. But what happens when we alter that image? Is our reflection the only thing that changes

I think that altering the image of god is what is meant by man.
We have to change the preconceptions of not only ourselves but of god if we want to evolve. God is the reflection of man, and we are a reflection of gods spirit, and because we change, so must god. God knew that the only way to find our way back to him was through our own understanding of ourself through adversity.
When god first created us he wanted us to be light of spirit like a child. But we opened our hearts to the conflict of good and evil.
THe comparison of one another in spirit, and now in the flesh.
And once you become aware there is no turning back and that the only way to find that lightening of spirit like a child is to let go of our earthly stigma and reflect on ourselves so that we may know god. It is, or he is the piece,the reflection that lives within.
So he is a relfection of us because we are a reflection of him.

Well, I can answer this question in many ways. However, I choose to answer as follows…
God is Father, Son and Holy Ghost (trinity).
People are body, soul and spirit.
Altering our image leaves an impression on our reflection of change. We can change the outer elements of our being, yet our reflection will remain the same. If we see an image of imperfection, then our reflection will have an engraved image of flaws, never being satisfied with what we were given at birth.
Learn to love yourself through the spirit (God’s view of us), which downloads God’s view to the soul, therefore engraving an acceptable image on the exterior.

GOD is The Creator.
The Creator decided to Make (Create) HIM a Human Body to Live in. The Father has one and the Son (Jesus) has one too!
We are Created in The Image and Likeness of That Body that the Creator Created for HIMSELF.
We are not CREATORS.
We are Human Being Spirits, Living in a Body Created After HIS Image and Likeness.
When we come into the Earth to get Born, that Body can get Messed-Up Too! Some, more than Others.
Man is a Deep Creation.

Well I'll try when God created us in God's image
sin and man did not co-exist together. We were so good we had the tree of life. But of course all that change.
Yeah our image is altered. but all in all our spirit remains the same. It's our flesh that changes it can overpower the spirit if we let it.

The image in which we were created was the ability to create and love unconditionally. It is presumed that the statement refers to physical appearance, but look around we are as diverse as the stars. We were created to create and to love to protect, guide an learn - the rest we have achieved on our own The spiritual path leads us to a love and caring-condemnation and judgment belong to G-d alone and if as believed he is love even that will be with more grace than we can muster. We are the image not the source.

in some way you may be soo right..hey guess that is kinda sortof what is happening..(there is more to it, athough wrong beliefs about God are a mayor hurdle to ge back to the Garden...)
i prefer a loving God..
(EDIT) God is still Love and being created in His image we need to find that love within.. Also we are female energy, Christ is male energy, God created us male and female, (Father and Mother= holy spirit) not to be seperated as we are in this illusion (dream) of ego-mind.. we belong together.,,,When we wake up we will be together (we then marry the Son and get Home),,,We belong to the light//

we can love as he loves we can have relationship and we have personality we are precious in so many ways
satan trys to mar the image to get at God
