yes but you already knew that and the new age movement is not likely to attract any real Christian Mystics cuz we actually are friends of the living Jesus and we know error when we see it and if not when we see it the first time then soon after when we get our flashes of truth during our everyday walk.

the only way to get a hand up is to ask Jesus for it.

I'll be seeing you in all the old familiar places dealing to yourself those aces
being you

Having skimmed through the entry, I would have to answer yes, I am, for the most part, a Christian mystic as I do believe in the joining of the human and the divine via regeneration/being born again/spiritual baptism/spiritual circumcision. Are there any Christians who would disagree with this? As Paul says, "I have been crucified with Christ. Nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me."

It'll be interesting to see how many see the term "mysticism" and don't go read the link resulting in totally misinterpret what you mean by mysticism.

Well, first off, wikipedia is not the end all of definitions considering that anyone can post just about anything.

That being said, a mystic would be attempting to become one with God as their goal. A Christian is not attempting to become one with God, but rather recognize Him as worthy of worship and a desire to mold ourselves as He would have us be. Also, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is not becoming one with God, rather God is in us to direct us like a driver and engine giving us direction and power.

So, you've actually physically united directly with God through Jesus? And it took such an experience to figure out that there are no contradictions between God and Science or creation and evolution? Jesus dwells in me, as well, though I haven't had such an experience and sincerely doubt you've had one either and I've known that there was no contradiction among those things all along.

apparently Ichee has your number. yeah a mystic and those who are not well I seriously doubt they are knowers, that maybe why they describe themselves as believers. Put your hand in the fire, turn your radio on, experience Jesus in your life and conform to the image, not just in the mind though it is in ones heart as well

wots a Christian mystic???... 2 SEPARATE IDENTITIES... A PERSONAL BELIEF ONLY...

A CHRISTIAN IS A CHRISTIAN - freedom of choice to be or not to be & TO believe or not to believe ....

A MYSTIC apparently, is a person who 'CLAIMS ONLY' to have, to a greater or less degree, such a direct experience --
one whose religion and life are labeled by THEMSELVES....AS 'CENTERED'... not only in their own mind on an accepted belief or practice, but on that which THE PERSON regards as first hand personal knowledge.....if THAT'S WHAT THEY BELIEVE...FREEDOM OF CHOICE..AGAIN !!

& THAT's NOT A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT TO being a CHRISTIAN...

I am one, and have been one most of my life. Christ, and the Father have given us all gifts to use for the betterment of all of us. Most of us use our gifts wisely and the gifts and abilities grow accordingly. Others misuse theirs and ultimately lose. It has enriched my life greatly. What some people who have answered this have thought is that the Gospel, the Old testament in particular, is the be-all and end-all of the Word. Christ, however, came to Earth and showed us all how to get along. His path was certainly Pagan. He did not want churches -"...mansions of wood and stone..."- for us to gather en-masse and kowtow. He did want us to confer in groups, peacefully -"...wherever 2 or more of you gather in My name there is My church..."-. He was all about life, the earth, energy, peace, meditation and prayer, for through prayer all things are possible. And to top it all off He promised us that we were all capable of being like He was if we followed Him and His path. We try, cherish His gifts, pray to Him, talk to Him, and He listens, and He responds.

And I wouldn't want it any other way.

Bless you all and have a wonderful day!
Peace!

There is no such thing as a Christian mystic. that is of another source, not of God. God is not into magic. and Yes God can work miracles Himself. He is the God of all miracles. But, when someone is using magic (which God hates) and is into eastern mysticism, this is contrary to God But, people have a right to believe it if they want. God gives free choice.
If power is not from the one true God, it is the power of the devil. May God show you all....Remember He loves you and is eager to teach and forgive and bring you into His fold. Funny how all this is so wildly talked about on religion pages. spirituality????? which spirit do you worship? Which spirit talks to you? Can, you mystic guru save you, heal you and deliver You. one who receives private revelations from Christ, Mary, angels, the Saints and sometimes even the devil is forced to tell the truth. These revelations contain prophecies, future events, Holy logic.
