I have to tell you I have no idea about your chosen profession but I would suggest trying to talk to people already in the profession-maybe call or email(find a website that's local to your area). Also read want ads for particular area you're interested in-that should tell you requirements as well as what they like to see. Call them if possible. If you explain as you did above, and ask for help, someone will probably give good advice.

Good luck!

In the state of Texas, parole/probation officers are required to have a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field such as sociology or social work. Also look to interning. At my office, we have hired the last five interns that worked with us while they were in school. Good luck!

The best thing I can tell you to do is to speak to your academic adviser. They are there to answer all your questions and to help you with your career goals. The next thing you should do is go and speak to a PO officer and ask what level of education you need. I believe that as of right now you are on the right track.
