I graduated a couple years ago. And I wasn't the most popular girl out there but I found a few good friends. The first year was kinda hard and I stuck to myself a bit but as you start to meet kids in class, just be yourself and people will start to like you for you. Try joining a sport or extra curricular activities instead of staying home at night. It'll work, just be patient.

If have academic strengths and smarts, I would suggest that you study about relationships and then taken a course at school called interpersonal communication and relationships, take debate class, join teams that you must talk, run for student body, tutor, etc. Only you can decide if you want to be unknown, known of, show a presence at your school, well known around school,
popular amongst the school admin, popular, in the in crowd, etc.
Respect comes from being self assured and comfortable in who you are. People should respect you if you respect them.

Perhaps things like this may be happening at your 'school' too.
I really don't think it is because you are quite and do not do much talking.
give it some thought and check out what others around you are doing that you are not!

pay the most [popular girl in school to be your girlfriend for like a week-then ppl will think your cool and they will respect-it won't last forever but for a moment you will feel important.

well start talking,start making good jokes and you shouldnt care what people say about you as long they don't touch you or make fun of you if they do then make them respect you by talking back to them.

give them respect and answer questions your teacher ask the class see I'm very outgoing and loud if i new you i would talk to you and get thousands of friends to meet you and they would friends with you and there.

High school kids are a species of their own. Don't go out of your way to try to please them. Be yourself. The right people will gravitate toward you. :)

graduated in 2002 be yourself stand up for your self when it is absolutely necessary. try your best not to care what others say about you.
