Ya know, I have read the Bible, I have read where it says, GOD is the One who decides who will follow, or believe, in Him or not.
Now I know I will get a lot of...well He is not real anyway...But if someone can explain this to me, as a believer...
He is the Potter I am the Clay...SOVEREIGN LORD...
He is SOVEREIGN, yeah so...what ,we need some good and some bad?
A little yin and yang?
So if He decides to put it my heart to believe in Him and not in anothers; then is He gonna put another in Hell for not believing, even though it was HIS choice to put the belief in someone or not.
See that part of the SCRIPTURES is quite confusing....
That is one reason why I may want to choose to read and perhaps accept the ...Say for example THE APOCOLYPSE of PETER...Of the books left out of the original CANON.
He asked God how HE can Condemn some to Hell. and God answered, THIS IS TO BE SEALED UP, but ya know I will destroy hell and free those who are there, later.
HMMMMM

Oh thanks for all the answers.
I am asking these questions not for myself.
I do trust in GOD, I know He knows my heart, I know I fall short of the GLORY, though..I also know that, that is why He gave Jesus to come and PAY THE PENALTY for ALL MANS SINS.
I was just asking to see what type of different responses I would get, and I say I got quite a variety of responses.
I will have to give somebody 10.
Thank you all.
PRAISE GOD...Father, Son and Holy- Spirit/Ghost.
In Jesus Holy Name
Amen.
DJH

You need to go back and really read the Bible again. Read the book of Romans and pay close attention to these particular passages;Romans 1,vs.18-32, and Rom. 2;vs. 1-12, Rom. 3;vs. 21-26. Also 1 Corinthians 1;vs. 25. I tell you the truth friend, GOD has extended His love and forgiveness to ALL who will believe. He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.[ see if you can research that quote from the Bible and find it for yourself] John 3; 16 tells us "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER shall believe in Him shall have everlasting life." You are a whosoever too. God does know right now which ones of us will accept Him and His awesome gift of love and deliverance. HE is very real friend and He has a plan for your life,it is up to YOU to come to Him and receive this plan for your life....or you can choose to remain bitter and deny that measure of faith that God has already placed within you. Open your heart while you can.
Also the book of Peter you mentioned was never part of the Bible
it's not that it was left out. Just as we have many books today that are good books and many written by people who are really hearing from God, nevertheless these books do not belong in the Bible.

You are caught up in the retoric of condemnation. God made each and every one of us. God knew all that we would do and be before we were ever born and God called it good.

Now then we have a choice each and every day to believe or not and live in love, mercy and forgiveness with and of others or not. I do believe that we will have to answer for our choices and suspect that there are somethings that God is going to be unhapy about and may decide that God can not keep company with that person based on who they chose to be in life. I also know that God does not want us living in fear of condemnation but rather in joy and freedom that comes from making the best choices because we sought God's guidance before choosing.

All... ALL... who come to God in The Way He proscribes will receive His free gift of Salvation... only a few will truly come to God in The Way he proscribes... the rest will reject The Way and will try to find their own way to god. That will not work. Or, they will just reject God out right... all of those will be rejected by God... But, God's Call is to ALL who will come in the Way He has provided.

You are stating a man invented doctrin some part of which is from an old dead guy named Calvin... don't be concerned with man invented doctrin...

One chooses to belive in him or not. The same way that you choose to do right or wrong. It's up to you. People call it free will. That is what will set you appart from what we call a " good person' or a "bad one" You are at a crossroads, God will not choose for you...so what will you choose, Good or evil?

What does you heart tell you? Scriptures were written 100's of years ago, they are written, many of them in metaphors, And are not to be taken literally.

And about punishing....we tend to give God human attributes. If you let your child play in your backyard, you know he is safe, but is not up to you what games he plays, you are lettin him/ her choose, hence free will. You are there to assist him if he needs your help. You trust his environment, because you place him there.

Sorry, the God I believe in does not get a kick by punishing.

Ya know not everything is for us to understand. But you choose your destiny if you go to hell it is your choice you choose not to serve, or to serve God. God doesn't send you there it is a devils hell it was never intended for people, that is what you choose. God knows who will accept the truth and who will not. He said that he would that all would believe. I hope this helps. God loves everyone including you :0)

well! i will answer ur question according to my belief...n my belief is not in christanity....well! God always gives chances to humans to come towards truth, towards right several times in life....some ppl do give it a thought, find interest n further research, some know it,but neglect it,or avoid it deliberately,n still others don't even realize when they were given this opportunity from God.....n after providing the knowledge of light,God want us to search for it's address....but when ppl don't,then God don't care about those who disbelieve in it,ignore it,neglect it,this is the time when God,leave non-believers n close the doors of understanding on them,n not allow them to find truth.....this is the concept told to me by Islam,n my book Quran.
hope this clears ur doubts.....

It is adding to your confusion when you veer away from the Bible and read other books and consider them to be as good as the Bible, which they are NOT. Get a good Commentary of the Bible and read it, as it explains the Scriptures. God bless.

Actually he gives us free will, so we have the choice to believe in him or not. If you examine the bible you will see that God never tried to force himself onto people-but when they disobey him he get mad, i.e Noah's ark-where he flooded the earth etc. He wills to believe in him freely and those who choose not, they choose he doesn't choose for them. Which is why he rewards those who believe him and follow his word.

Ever hear of "artistic license"?

When God says He will choose those to whom He gives the gift of faith, where does it say that He does not choose EVERYONE!?

Only those who respond, in effect, with "hell no, I won't go" are in trouble and they put themselves there by their own free will.
