No one is better under a murderous tyrant. Saddam and his sons enjoyed torturing people.
They killed tens of thousands.

Iraq is in turmoil. Saddam's supporters and Shia factions are causing a huge amount of unrest. Then there are the foreign influences, There is to be a verdict in Saddam's trial for killing the Kurds in the next 24 hours.
Al Sadr's militia is torturing and killing Sunni's in Baghdad to try to spark civil war.

Many Iraqis are better off. The "Marsh Muslims" in the southern part of the country were being killed off wholesale and an ancient way of life was being exterminated. People near the Syrian border are fine too, and the Kurds, who have suffered grievously are truly happy in Iraq now, after being exterminated in Syria, Turkey, Iran and Iraq.

Nothing is all good or all bad. Our country has to keep foremost in mind what we are there for.
The entire mid East waits to see what will come.

The Hezbollah are trying to topple the elected government of Lebanon, funded and armed by Iran and Syria.

Please keep in mind that Iraq is on one side of Iran and Afghanistan is on the other. Unless you look forward to real WW III against Muslims led by Iran, you'd better hope that Iraq stabilizes under its new government.

Slowly, the new Iraqi government is gaining control. What kind of control, remains to be seen! The latest demand by the new PM for the US troops to stand down on it's patrol of Sadr City probably doesn't bode well with the US military command. It also draw s attention to who's politics al Malaki is playing up to, given the fact that the anti-American cleric Sadr is a puppet of Ahmadinejad.

As far as life under the tyrant Saddam is concerned, life under a dictator rarely gets better. Life under Saddams two dead sons was even more unpredictable. Even if life under Saddam wasn't so bad, the two monsters he would have left in charge, would have left life unbearable for the Iraqi Shiites and Kurds.

On going war doesn't produce an improved society. Even though parts of Bagdad has a normacy to it with activity as usual cannot move forward with continued war. Guess we will have to wait and see , what Iraq becomes after all the turmoil.

Having Iraq as a state could be tricky. I mean it's kind of far away from all the other states and Puerto Rico might get jealous, after all they've been a territory of ours long before Iraq.
Besides setting up a governor and other state posts we'd have to come up with all those state symbols. How about this for the state bird: The vulture!

It's bad, but not nearly as bad as the left-wing media wants you to believe.

The reason for the escalated attacks on American in October and November is because the terrorists want Democrats to win the election.

Although Saddam Hussain was a dictator , rather a ruthless dictator, but the suffering of the people were much less during reign.

If peace was establish with the removal of Saddam, surely this would be the nicest time for Iraq.

Bush makes Saddam look like a Quaker!

Not only were the Iraqis better off, we were better off as well! I don't care that Exxon lost three oil contracts to the Russians and the French! That is just less oil for them to spill!

If the Oil companies want Iraq, they should hire their own damn army!

I think we should let them kill each other. If thats the way they want to live why should we bother trying to help them. The Iraqis should be ashamed of themselves, they had a great oppurtunity and they are pissing it away.
