I think it's a great idea.Good in more ways than two.Don't listen to the naysayers. It's just ignorance or laziness, and I wish more people were like you.I need to get away from this evil computer, because it's the only really bad thing I do,as far as energy use goes.Keep up the good thinking, and kudos to you!

The T.V. is only switched on in our house when there is a program we want to watch, which may be daily or weekly. We have the radio on quite a lot, but that is not as costly as T.V. -green wise. We also go for a walk every night with our dog. I am trying to use the washing machine less, so I hope that counts.

I don't have cable, and most of the time don't watch anything. If it were up to me,I'd just as soon read. My son and husband would have the t.v. on all the time if I didn't nag about it.Whatever happened to popping popcorn on the stove and talking about your day?I wish I lived in a different time.People should have a limited amount of electricity they could use,so something would have to give, once in a while.

Becasue you can't "FORCE" people to do things like this.

What if you live alone, or are elderly and disbaled. Turning off the TV and "talking" (to who, yourself?) or walking might not be an option.
