Ok, I am familiar with the books of the bible. About 73... And Christians say these were written by men that had the holy spirit in them while written. Then, there are in history, proof of h Naustic gospels, said to be books not written by men gifted by the holy spirit (the da vici code...) But there is some amazing stuff, like in one of the naustics, it is predicted that a great fire bird will crash into towers (september 11) So, why do christians not like the naustics, and why are they not part of the bible?

*** Oh yeah, can someone tell me about wehn was the bible written and finished?***

actually naustic might be a better choice of words than gnostic
The gnostic gospels present a very frivilous Jesus who tells the apostles MAry Mag has to become a man to be saved and doe frivolous miricles like changing clay to pigeons for fun... its the stuff of flim flam. You might find people like Eaine Pagels trying to deconstruct Chrstianity by merging it with gnostisism...but it aint gunna fly and frankly it's bad scholoarship.

the gnostic gospels are a trip and a half... in the gospel of Peter angels come out os the tomb follwed be a talking cross!!! clearly myth city!!!!

in the case of the gospel of Thomas... it was known for 30 years and considered NO BIG.. one copy and 2 centuries after the fact would be like me rewrtiting the history of the revolutioaray war claiming we got it wrong for centuries... in the end it deserves no serious weight

the actual gospels lead off with MATTHEW a disliked TAX XCOLLECTOR.. MARK who was a quitter on a missions trip and LUKE a gentile!! and lastly JOHN, perhaps the exception. But most were of low names and humble pointing to Jesus. Wereas.. in the gnostic gospels you get BIG NAMES of people supposedly writting for credbibility and written not be the original eyewitnesses bot osmeone later and unreliable

Stick with the Bible instead. Its reliable and repsents the real gospel... not brand X... you want the real deal

You can draw similarities to anything if you look hard enough. If someone predicted that a hippo would fall from the sky, land in the sea and get someone wet then people'd probably say that it was a prediction of the tsunami that hit Australasia.

Btw, The Da Vince Code was fiction, don't take it to heart.

Read "Beyond Belief" by Elaine Pagels.
It explains a lot.

Sam,

Please if you never learn another thing about religion please learn this...you cannot group all Christians together. This is modern day ignorance on a vast scale.

Which Bible? Which version? or do you mean when was scripture in its original form completed?
