it is true, I became pregnant at a young age and was encouraged to abort my child, I even seriously considered it, but I didn't, stayed in school ,earned my college degree and still have my beautiful son and I cant imagine my life without him now, I did sacrifice my youth, being young and stupid, having fun and stuff like that but when I look into his eyes I know it was worth it and I got the better deal anyway. I am blessed because of him

I don't think it *is* true sacrifice if we are thinking about what we may gain from it.

The biggest sacrifice I ever made I gained nothing from. My children benefited from it, but it still tears at me every day. Maybe I will be able to look back many years from now and know that the sacrifice I made benefited me as a mother because it made my children more secure, happy people. But since the time I made that sacrifice, and for the foreseeable future, I gained and will gain nothing from it.

No, it is not truth. True sacrice is required of us according to God in His word. We must be willing to surrender all to God, even our life if necessary. this is obedience. full surrdenr to self. and knowing He knows best.
But, what we gain is not a sacrifice. sacrifice is what we give up. Its mainly our will we are to give up for His and then the rest falls into place, easily and joyfully, because He does know best and we want His full protection.
But, what we gain is full protection from God. He says obedience brings blessing and disobediences brings curse. so simple.
He will then give more revelation, opportunity, etc. Doors open wide when we obey. what do we gain? We gain it all. We are one with God and in His protection, and we get to know Him more intimately and He fills our blessing cup to overflow. I usually say why call it sacrifice, when in the end, you only gain. But gaining is not the sacrifice. Its giving up our own will to the God we know knows best. what a pleasure, no other way.

Depends upon your point of view. In chess it's perfectly acceptable to sacrifice a lesser piece, such as a pawn, to gain advantage to win the game. The sacrifice is acceptable, of course, unless you are the piece being sacrificed.

but if we only sacrifice with the expectation of gain down the road, it is not a true sacrifice.

True sacrifice is giving of your self. Giving of things we have is easy to do.

~~ Maceo,,,,Please look up the definition of the word -Altruism- and if you act accordingly, with Pure Heart and Intention, then you will be "blessed with Positive Karma". Sometimes we are "rewarded" for our actions in this life. Sometimes the reward comes in the next life. Remember,,, The Law of Karma is simple,,, Love generates love, etc, etc, etc. Good Luck~~

i dont really understand that. but i would have to say that a true sacrifice is giving up someting that u really love and need, and cant get it back. its like what jesus did, but we did get Him back, and hes coming again soon.
