Mine is going on week three. I started birth control the first day of it. I'm just wondering if the first one after birth can sometimes go for a long time or if I should ask the doctor.

Its not uncommon to go as long as 6 weeks after birth, some only go 4. This is for the bleeding after birth, if you are having an actual period, and its lasting three weeks, see your doctor. If your baby is 3 weeks old, then this is normal.

By all means girl ask your doctor!!!! Mine came at 3.5 months post baby and lasted only 4 days. Everyone is different but I would say anything over a week is too long...
