Let me ask you this.
Are you going to use lead paint?
Are you using enamels?
Are you painting with added chemicals?
Are you painting with shellac?
Are you painting with oil based paints?
Are you using lacquor?
If any of these answers are yes, then the answer to you is yes.
But if you are using 100% latex (Arcylic) then the answer to your question is no.
Latex paint is water bourne , it has a small odor but is safe to most anyone or anything that doesn't have a allergic reaction to latex.

Is it dangerous for you to be around while you paint?
Answer:
Yes. so if it is dangerous for you, it is also dangerous for your cat.
Latex paint. Unless ingested in large quantities, water-soluble latex paints are not highly toxic. However, some latex paints emit formaldehyde when drying. High levels of formaldehyde can give you a headache and irritate your eyes, nose and throat.
Oil-based paint. Oil-based paint contains organic solvents that can be irritating to eyes and skin, and can cause cracking of skin. Inhaling paint fumes can result in headaches, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. Most of these symptoms go away once you go out into fresh air. However, frequent exposure to these chemicals in the presence of poor air circulation can cause kidney, liver, and blood problems.
Safety tips: When painting, keep windows and doors fully open. Place a box fan in a window to direct air and fumes outdoors. Keep the fan on while painting and for 48 hours thereafter. Keep small children away from the room being painted and away from open paint cans.
A house can hold as many dangers for a kitten or cat as for a small child, sometimes more.

That depends on which type of paint you are using - whether it is oil-based or water-based (latex) paint. Just be sure to keep all the rooms in the house well ventilated until the paint dries regardless of type of paint. You may want to put a fan in the window in reverse direction (turn it backwards so that it is drawing OUT the air instead of blowing air IN).

Only if you are worried about getting cat hair in your paint or paint on your cat. I painted my whole house with my dog home and he kept rubbing up against the walls. Maybe there is truth that cats ARE smarter than dogs!

maximum communities require licensing of the two cats and canines. If the neighbor's cat is permitted to roam which would be a contravention of a community ordinance. to sidestep any problems, I propose which you tell the neighbor which you're doing an application and that the cat could be uncovered to the applying. different than that, why are you putting poison on your grass interior the 1st place? do no longer you know that your crap will finally artwork it incredibly is way into the floor water and poison people? Too undesirable you're extra in contact approximately your neighbor's cat than you're approximately your neighbor! you're a jerk.

No. If it smells noxious to him, he'll keep his nose away. But yeah, keep him out of the room. Curiosity. . . . .
