You can get it in Sainsbury's now and I think I've bought it in Tesco recently too,

looks like you are in luck!

p.s it's not that expensive either (my husband loves it)

try to get a recipe and make your own... just need a food dehydrator... can even be prepared in a oven... is what I do... get the meat.. I use a rump roast... trim off the fat...cut into slices about 1/8 of an inch thick .. put in plastic bag, gallon size, with the marinade.. can get many recipes online.... then put into food dehydrator to "cook" rotate the trays... leave in marinade for 1 to 3 days... the longer you leave it the more spicy it gets... not more than 3 days though... will spoil.. takes about 24 hours or so to dry out....in dehydrator.... about ten pounds of meat makes a pound of jerky

good luck

don't have my recipe in front of me but I can e-mail it to you if you want it...

Yes it is really, really expensive in the UK. My hubby and I have looked extensively on the internet for places that will deliver it cheaper than tescos but it works out pretty even. we use to have friends who were americans and would get it cheap on base for us but they inconsideratly moved back to the states! still trying to get them back over here tho!

I'm afraid you're stuck with tescos prices by the looks of things!

If you get a food dehydrator and have the time to let a "project" sit for several hours you can make it yourself (with, maybe, the help of a recipe you find online).

Food dehydrators can be pretty simple gadgets - some are made of plastic and are easy to clean.

Buy a dehydrater and get a recipe and that is about the only way you will get it cheap. Even in America it is expensive, ok maybe not bar price but even in stores it is expensive.

Most South African shops sell it in the UK.

There are quite a lot of them have sprung up since the white SA's have returned to England since independance.

It is expensive though.

It is called 'biltong'

Wild Bill's beef jerky is my favorite brand, I go to their website to order it as it's hard to find in my area.
