Haha what I did when I got my tounge pierced was drink Coke with crushed up ice, it helps with the pain and swelling. But since I couldn't take not eating, I got tiny pieces of food (any food, except hard stuff like steak), and put it in the very back of my mouth, and chewed it with my molars. Swallowing hurts! Don't try it with rice cuz it gets all over your mouth and you don't want to move your tounge too much. The whole spicy and salty thing is cuz if that gets into the hole, it will iritate it and it HURTS LIKE HELL! (I learned that the hard way lol) Milk is actually pretty good, I've never heard don't drink milk. Try drinking strawberry slim fast through a bendy straw that you put in the very back of your mouth. Good luck!

When I had my tongue pierced I stuck to the following for a while:

Plain soup - something like chicken or mushroom
Vanilla Ice Cream

Suck on an ice cube every now and then to help keep the swelling down. Drink lots of water and avoid alcohol, and make sure you use an alcohol free mouth wash at night. In a few days you should be feeling ok to start introducing other foods back into your diet. Do it slowly and be careful when you are eating - you will find that you eat in a slightly different way.

Dude.... WHY did you get your tongue pierced?
Keep it clean - brush your teeth regularly and rinse with warm saltwater (a half TSP salt in a cup of warm water) a few times daily - esp. after meals. Soft, cool food will be best, try to avoid milk products for a few days (this may cause an infection).

I sure hope you got the plastic ends on the stud - those metal ball ends can wear down the insides of your teeth over time.

nothing spicy or salty. really plain foods, ice-cream might be good. A mild soup, bread, and soft vegetables.

Don't forget to use Listerine afterwords

Ice...that's about it. You gotta be careful about food getting in it. It's disgusting when it gets infected. Friend in highschool did it and her tounge turned bright red, then white around the piercing. Massive infection, she still can't taste certain foods. It was, well, gross.

No problem, gangrene will set in soon and your tongue will rot off anyway.
