I've not read the Koran, but since Islam, Judaism and Christianity all arose from the same ancient sources/traditions, and all share the same basic values of love, peace and forgiveness (apart from the nutters on all sides), I'll make some assumptions.

If I were the creator of the universe, and some cheeky little git said they were going to do my job for me, be they Christian, Muslim or whatever, I'd be very insulted indeed!!

Most people who would "condemn" others to hell are far to self righteous. They are convinced that they are correct in their believes and righteous enough to make this condemnation. However, if they actually followed their own teaching then they should know that they have no authority to make this condemnation. As such the condemnation is little more than a threat or insult.

Agree. Only god has the power or the right to say who goes to hell. some people have short memories and forget that they were saved by grace not by being told they were going to hell if they didn't repent. It's easy to forget they were heading for hell once too and it was love that saved them. God gives everyone the chance to choose heaven, some christians make it look like an unattractive place full of judgmental hypocrites. I'm a christian and I never presume to tell anyone they are going to hell.

I don't know about insulting God, but they certainly aren't accurate and don't have the ability to condemn others to hell. In Matthew 7, we see that it is Jesus who will condemn people to hell... "Depart from me you who are cursed into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels."

If someone tells another that they are going to hell, that is not right, but for a Christian to tell another person that according to the Bible they will go to hell, when adequately supported and explained, that is not insulting to God, but commanded by God. The problem is that some do not do this tactfully, and the rest are stereotyped.

Yes. No person can condemn another to hell. Only God can. But those who tell others that GOD will condemn them unless they put their faith in Jesus Christ are NOT insulting God at all. In fact, they are carrying out His very command to them.

God tellls us to judge the sin, not the sinner. And, we cant judge a non believer, only a believer. This is Biblical. But, we are never to judge a person and condem them to hell. This is only Gods job, and yes it offends GOD. BIG TIME. I am a Christian, and I am a serious BIBLE STUDENT, and I know this. But if we see a christian sinning, God says we MUST tell them its a sin, and do it in love or not do it at all. just point out the sin, and then let God take over. and let them know what the Bible does say about that sin, that it does lead to hell. But, we cant say they are going there. They may change, we dont know their heart, its between them and GOD> period. Yes, we can talk to non believers to, but few understand about sin and surely wont receive correction. WE are to point them to the source of all love and answers.GOD, and let Him do the rest. Teling someone they are on the way to hell with no chance of forgivenss, is just as much as a sin as whatever they are doing. People just want to do part of what the Bible says, the part they like, and not all of it. But, God is clear on this, they need to follow this too, or not at all. Thanks for the question, makes us think hey?

Yes, I would agree with that. The Bible clearly teaches that we should not judge others, lest we be judged by the same standard and measure by which we have handed that judgment out. We should leave the judging of ones heart to the Almighty. Let Him be the one who does the condemning.

Yes they are insulting the idea of a loving God who wants to save us all though Christ. On the other hand, if you want to really curse someone, why not tell them to go to the bog and have terrible cramps and constipation, followed by the exact opposite. Now that would be really sore **** hell!

People cannot condemn one to hell. Its God who says in his word that tells you that if you are not saved you will go to hell.

People are not in the position to condemn - only God can judge.
